Space Invaders Extreme

Post by SpaceBooger »

I just got this game and I have to say it is a lot of fun!

I am a fan of the original game, I have a link to that and Pac-Man on the website I use for my students, but this extreme remix lives up to the hype!

I am a big fan.

Here is the review for the DS version I am playing

I also believe that this game was released for the PSP also.

*edit:
It was also released for the PSP: http://psp.ign.com/articles/881/881728p1.html

yea I might pick this up for PSP, looks like it would be some good fun but I gather I could save 30 bux and find a flash version and put it on my PSP as well.

Funny, I was just playing that this morning for the first time.

Great remake, IMO!

I want this game so bad, but I might hold out to see if it comes to XBLA. I could get the PSP version, but would love to play this on a big screen in HD.

Yup -- but my wife essentially stole it from me :)
I ordered a second one and a new 4GB MicroSD card!

That will hold enough titles to keep you busy for a while!

Here's a link if you don't already have one -

i heard that they are compatible with the ds paddle. True?

I know that the paddle was released in japan only. Do i need a japan cart to play the game, or could i pick up the american one and pop in the paddle all the same? Is there an option for it somewhere in the software?

anyone confirm?

Yes. They kept the option open for the American software, according to IGN:

"And we can't leave out one of the coolest features of the Nintendo DS game: Paddle support. In Japan, Taito produced a weighted knob peripheral for the handheld that plugs into the bottom of the system. Use it in Space Invaders Extreme and you can play the game with slow or quick twisting flicks, adding another level of intensity to the already intense gameplay. Granted players who have the knob have the upperhand against those that do not, so the designers smartly limited the support to the normal single player progression; you won't be able to use it for the Worldwide Rankings Mode or in multiplayer competition, and any high score you earn will be noted with a "P" next to it. The Paddle Controller is currently not available in the states but the North American version retains the Paddle support. Definitely import one if you have the means."
