Did they seriously call Q*Bert and Donkey Kong rare? They're two of the most common arcade games ever.
Gaming accomplishments:
Nibbler (marathon): 251,169,160 / Nibbler (one life): 5,263,360 (WR)
Donkey Kong: 423,100 [L12-1] (150th place as of 2019-01-15)
Super Smash Bros. (N64): Ranked top 5 in Wisconsin from Q1 2016 to Q2 2017
Shrek SuperSlam: won largest tournament in game's history (Shrekfest 2018)

Common, yeah - but also highly collectible and tough to find in good working order and excellent shape. From that standpoint, there is a degree of rareness. Half the WTB threads on KLOV are for parts for those games, and they fetch good jingle. (mild exaggeration, but not much)

I'll give you that much. Original power supplies are not in large supply.

Nor are clean cabinets or in tact marquees.

In regards to the sonic CD review fair enough he didn't like it and I can see the guy works on the site so he probably has to play and complete a lot of games but is it too much to ask that the review be a bit bigger?
As for the numbers he has to use them because it is what the site asks of him as a staff member, if the numbers were not there it would be interesting to see if the review would be any different.
I don't agree with is opinion on the sonic series evolving to the point where games like sonic CD look bad compared to more recent titles but he is entitled to think that.

As for the yahoo article it wasn't even written by a profession or staff writer or anything it was a contributer piece, hell I could try and get a contributer piece submitted. At the moment the way the OP is acting reminds me of a thread I saw on another forum where people were shitting on guys for using X-Arcade sticks on their mame cabs instead of having a dedicated, built in stick. Came off as elitest with their posts reading like "My standards of the correct ones".

Reviews should be made of words and not numbers, I think. I always ignore the score anyway - just read it and see what the author thinks. If the author obviously doesn't know what he's talking about it's not worth scoring anyway.
