XSeed's press release didn't mention anything about Gamestop, or any exclusive retailers.

I may just try to flip my sealed copy of The Last Story LE on eBay and wait for the US release now

I like the have the US release when possible. I only get the Japanese or European releases of games when they didn't get a US release or my console can't play them.

I guess I don't NEED the US version. The fact is I really don't NEED any version because I'm just going to download an ISO and keep the game sealed. Yea, I am weird. What of it?

<sigh> Of course they announce right after the EU version ships. I would have gladly bought the US version and waited a few months to support their decision to bring it over, but I'm not buying two copies.

Out of those 3 RPGs The Last Story was the only one I thought looked interesting. I might buy it. It looks pretty fun.

Actually, the game is 29.95 GBP (46.90 USD) on Zavvi.com, and shipping to the states is 1.57 USD (at least that's what I was charged), so you would actually be spending a tiny bit more buying it here, assuming the game will retail for 49.99 USD in the states.

Yeah, I'm having a hard time to feel bad that I imported. A special edition copy will be arriving in my hands months before anyone else here plays it. NoE, who are the ones that actually made the effort to localize this and other games I want to play, will be seeing my money instead of NoA. And the cost is actually less when comparing the expected price for a game-only release?

Not sure if I'll pick up the North American release or not. I do like XSEED quite a bit and would like the convenience of a copy from this region... but paying for games twice over seems pointless when that money could go towards importing Pandora's Tower or Fatal Frame. (Yes, more core games getting released late in the Wii life-cycle that NoA is pretending don't exist.)

Why? Are you suggesting that was part of the deal with NoE? I can't see any benefit to NoA delaying the announcement, without even a tease beforehand, until they lose sales from their most excited fans.

Hurray. I've looks like it'll be a pretty snazzy year for RPGs on the Wii for me. Been wanting this game for quite some time.
