any dragonball z fans in here?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I have to say that several good anime do have a problem with pacing, this is IMO relatively inevitable from such direct adaptations of manga strips. Then some of them are NOT adapted from manga but follow the same "style"...

There are certainly anime that don't have problems with pacing as well.

And in the 80s / 90s (?) there were some very interesting Europe / Japan collaborations. Cities of Gold is excellent IMO (I've watched it recently so I know it's not just nostalgia).

But there's no need to get up in arms about this anyway, it's no secret people have differing tastes in shows, just like in videogames.
I personally never liked a specific style of Nickelodeon (with perhaps Ren & Stimpy being the obvious example - but there's several others that follow), but it's considered (and probably rightly so) to be an american classic.
I typically like Disney stuff (for example, Gargoyles was amazing, Kim Possible is nice and relatively recent) which is made in the U.S. (I believe. And I like the style used in Samurai Jack / Powerpuff girls (I'm waiting for the jokes).

Back on topic, I like Dragonball and DBZ. I actually prefer DBZ (I guess I'm in the majority here), although it has some severe flaws somehow the rest of it makes up for them (and I like all the "Sagas" in Z, I sort of see why some people think it went downhill after Freezer but don't totally agree). But they are quite distinct styles even though Z is the "sequel". GT goes too over the top I think, but it's sort of the natural extension of DBZ (which means, they probably should have stopped :P)

wow thinking about dbz certainly brings back memories, it was one of my first anime, at beginning I saw the dubs, but when then after sometime i switched to subs, because I liked the japanese voices(eveb if goku voices is totally different from its dub counterpart...), i really liked the original dragon ball too, while towards dragonball gt i'm neutral i neither like it or dislike it

The reviews for this game are what I expected just based on the gameplay clips I've watched. In short, the graphics were improved, but I still say they look NOTHING like the show. In fact the more they improve the graphics, the more they drift away from the show's visual style. The gameplay obviously follows the Budokai standard more than the Budokai Tenkaichi one, but it actually seems to be a downgrade of sorts compared to Budokai 3, which is a game I loved very much. And as I'm watching the combat, I'm getting the impression that they didn't even really study each fighter's style. Most of these characters are moving in ways I'd never expect them to move. Lots of highly awkward punches and such.

I saw some footage of another anime inspired 360/PS3 fighting game that absolutely stomped Burst Limit in the visual department. The name escapes me at the moment. I cant remember if it was a naruto game (not the one thats already out), or another. Someone refresh me.
