Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure - a surprisingly great game

Got my kids each another figure for Valentines gifts. We have 13 figures and one add-on (the ice world thingy).

What's really cool is the battle arena, its sorta like if they released Smash Bros. but you couldn't use the character until you bought the physical character. Or to put it differently, remember your Star Wars or He-man figures you used to collect, Brad, you had hundreds - it's sorta like what if you bought them and could bring them to life...see them on screen, ya know. That's what this is - it is a brilliant cross-over marketing plan and is wildly fun for all ages.

I didn't have either. Star Wars sucks. I did have a hell of a lot of Ninja Turtles though.

That actually is a really good idea...

...I wish they made that for Ninja Turtles. :|

I'm seriously re-thinking our friendship.

Call retrosportsgamer, I think he just elevated up one notch on the Brad scale.

you don't think Ninja Turtles are cool?

at any rate I've never really been a fan of science fiction stuff anyway. Star Wars, Star Trek, Stargate, anything of that nature doesn't seem to appeal to me.

BUT back on topic. Skylanders. Is this new business model a fluke, or will other games replicate its success?

Legendary Trigger Happy was released this week:

Other than that, Skylanders seem to be in abundance everywhere right now. I am going to try and get all four Legendary's tonight, then float until Friday when I get a bonus at work.

My local TRU had half of its large display filled with Legendary Trigger Happy. That figure is useless to me, so I was annoyed. I just need the Empire of Ice pack for now.

I haven't even opened the other "new" figures yet. I'll wait until April when the final batch of figures are released.

Zing and mjmjr25 how are yall storing your figures? I have mine, and both portals, in a decent sized wicker picnic basket. But once I get a dedicated gaming room, or even game storage area, I want to put them on display/shelves.
