It's everywhere.

Most of my friends smoke it. Some more than others. Some do it while driving. I remember going to Rock the Bells in a van full of stoners. They had a 4 ft. bong in the van and passing it around and lighting it up. The driver as well joined in. I prayed I would get there and back home safely. Stoners. They're everywhere. It's whatever. Never smoked the stuff and never really plan on doing it.

It's already somewhat legal out here (California). Not much to say to a doctor to get a card. Just that your back hurts or some other bullshit excuse. It costs money to get one and then to buy the weed itself and then to renew the card after a year so it just seems like a money pit to be honest. Video Games/Music and going out with that special someone are better endeavors for my monies.

That sentenced I quoted from you totally reminded me of the opening lines to the song Down Under. I've read that 'combie' is Australian lingo for 'van', so a fried out combie is a broken down van. And 'zombie' apparently was an extremely potent batch of pot that was in Australia. Also, from watching the pop up video (remember that shit?) version of the song, the van that breaks down in the beginning of the video has "Tanelorn Rules" written on the front of it. The pop up says that Tanelorn is an annual hippie festival in Australia. So yeah, your sentence just completely reminded me of the opening lines to Down Under.

Also, what year did you go to Rock the Bells? I went to the NY show in 2007, and I can now die happy, having seen Rage Against The Machine live.

I went to the 2011 show at San Bernardino. It was fantastic to see my favorite album performed live with Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, and Cappadonna! I feel the same way in that I can die happy having that experience.

No, but that's not what I said, and you've ignored the further elaboration, i.e. if they break the law and smoke around their kids, what other bad choices are they making? I was taken not because they smoked, but they did smoke, and freely at that, without care for my health and well-being, and what was manifest in one instance clearly is seen in another.

My grandfathers both smoke. Besides the point, but both are in their mid-90s and no lung-cancer. I've lived in plenty of places where anti-smoking isn't pushed nearly as hard as in America (including Canada, where it is very much accepted some places). I'm not advocating smoking, but I am trying to say that not everyone who smokes makes other bad decisions regarding parenting. Your theory does not necessarily hold out here. It could in some cases, but I think this is a very minor issue when isolated (which it often is!).

My feeling to beat the snot out of someone who would call the gov't on parents who smoke, with smoking being the primary reason, still stands.

Yes, smoking around a child is bad, but not THAT bad. I'd say ripping a child from its family and placing it into gov't care is MUCH worse child abuse then smoking around it.

Of course, if there are other, MUCH more serious factors involved, then I take back my desire to destroy your friend's face.

It really was a combination of things, the girl snorted pills in front of her kid but my friend didn't have video of it but we had video of her smoking weed. The kid just went to the grandparents anyway so it worked out well in the end.

Shit my idea was black mail since the mom was a trust fund junkie. Glad I didn't do that though.

Awesome! Rock the Bells was my favorite concert that I went to. I've only ever been to concerts at arenas (Madison Square Garden, Nassau Collesium) so this was the first time I was at a festival type show. I'll definitely remember that day/night forever. Not just because I finally got to see my favorite band live, but because it was kinda hot but insanely humid! I was wearing two T shirts, the one I came wearing and then the shirt I bought there. It was brutal.

Some funny events that happened while I was there:

When we decided to get food from the various vendors, we decided if we split up on the lines it would save time. So my girlfriend at the time and myself waiting on the one line for cheesy fries, and my brother waited on the line of a different vendor for hot dogs. We were waiting on line for a while, we finally get to the point where there's two people in front of us. The guy at the front of the line turns around with arms flailing and addresses the long line behind him, "Awwwww, they're out of fries!" It was one of the most comical public situations I've ever been in. Not only was it funny how the guy exclaimed that they ran out of fries, and the cries from the line that followed, but the fact that they actually ran out of fries! This vendor had one main attraction: cheesy fries. How could you run out? It's not like they didn't know how many people were gonna be there.

While Rage was performing, I was locked in to watching. I really could care less about anything else going on at the time. There was this one dude in the crowd in eye sight of me, he must have partied too hard because he was taking a nap on the ground. At one point, some one was walking past him and picked him up and said something along the lines of "You alright, man?" The partied-out dude stood up for a few seconds while the good samariton walked away, then promptly lay back down on the ground and continued to sleep.

This event was on Randall's Island, it's a real bottle neck in and out. So when an event like this goes on, they have lots of police and whatnot to control the crowd when every one is leaving. There were a lot of buses going back to the city, to different locations. I guess the cops/security guards were told to make it clear to the crowd which bus is going where. I remember this one black female cop kept repeating, "This bus is going to Queens, this bus is going to Queens," while gesturing with both hands. Then eventually, while still gesturing toward the bus, it turned into, "Queens, Queens, Queens, Queens," which cracked me up a little. I was smirking at her, we locked eyes and she smiled at me, all while she continued to repeat "Queens" over and over again. She knew why I was smirking, and she appreciated how funny it must have been to me.

I don't know, it's just all the little stuff like that that'll really make a day or night memorable. I'll never forget these little things, and the various other little things that happened that night.

Any idiot parent who is snorting codine or oxys or whatever she was snorting in front of her kid(s) is someone who is trash and needs themselves cleaned up.

Thats exactly right, it needs to be one of those VW vans. I was actually quite suprised to read your comment, since I thought that the term was universal. People here would definately look at you strangely if you refered to any old van as a Kombi.
