Decent N64/SNES game find

Post by latenitevacancy »

I feel pretty accomplished, I just made a trip to my local game store, and made a really good find

I got Conkers Bad Fur Day complete for 12.99, UN sqaudron for 4.99, and Indiana Jones Greatest Adventure for 3.99. I feel proud.

UN Squadron rocks! In fact I'd venture to say it's one of my favorite SNES games. :D

Axelay and R-Type III for SNES
MUSHA for Genesis (which is expensive)
Lightening Force and Ranger X are other good Genesis shmups that are dirt cheap

I could go on and on about this! I've been collecting these as of late! Racket made some great suggestions(Axelay and R-Type III are awesome and MUSHA is one of my all time favorites) and I'd add to this a bit.

SNES:
Space Megaforce - great vert by Compile who made MUSHA
Super R-Type - I like III a bit more, but this is also amazing
Super Nova - Darius series shooter, hard as nails but awesome
Gradius III- this is classic, good ol graduis
Cybernator - fun run 'n gun type shmup
Imperium - I haven't played this yet but I've heard it compares to Aleste games a bit although not as wepon crazy

There are some great Super Famicon titles which can play too it you snap out the little platic tabs in the cart slot on you SNES or use a convertor.
Macross Scrambled Valkyrie
Cotton 100%
Parodius da
Jikkyo Oshaberi Parodius
Pop 'n Twin Bee
Sonic Wings (USA Title is called AeroFighters but is super rare and $$)

Genesis: (my favorite, lots of choices)
Truxton - i love the weapons in this game, great old school space shooter
Thunder Force III (Lightening Force is actually TF IV, both are amazing)
Fire Shark - awesome 1942-esq game great music
Steel Empire - really fun, cool theme and fun boss fights
Whip Rush - fun r-type style game
Arrow Flash - kinda average, but fun and it has a Macross theme
Phelios - your Apollo on your flying horse Phelios. this game gets crap, but it's got a cool charge wepons system and I've had fun with it. Plus some cheesy cuts scenes.
Wings of Wor - you're a guy with wings and the bosses are amazing. what more is there?
Bio Hazard Battle - lots of great ocean themed ememies
Gaiares - cool wepons system, hard stuff no mercy

oh shoot this is in the Nintendo section...too...much...sega.....self destructing......

I'm going to start sound like a broken record but get Raiden Trad, fairly inexpensive and a great shmup.

Another of my favorites is Thunder Force III.

Another good thing about the genesis titles is that I have bought all of them(most CIB) except Gaiaires and Musha for less than 10 bucks. I actually scored on musha (cart only) and found it for 12, and truxton is usually a bit more than the 6 i paid for it. but all in all you can find most of the games for around 3-7 bucks on ebay or at vintage game stores.
