Xbox 360 blank screen through VGA

I'm trying to get my 360 to output through VGA. It worked a while ago when I tried it, but for some reason my monitor just says Video mode not supported. I'm trying to get it to display on my little monitor in my bedroom (no room downstairs because of the PS3 and Wii using up the rest of my spare HD inputs and space). It does native 1024 x 768. The last time I tried it worked without me having to faff with it. I've been through the troubleshooting section on the xbox site that says switch on the 360 while holding Y and the right trigger and also the other one that says switch it on while holding both triggers and then the Y button. Neither have worked.

Is there anyone out there with access to a 360 and VGA cable who could tell me what buttons to press to change the resolution to 1024 x 768. (I have sound but no picture, it's trying to force my monitor to a resolution it can't display so i'm blind but not deaf IE I can hear when i'm changing options with the controller)

Never mind, I got my friend to help me out. What I pressed was this:

Right 3 times
A
A
Down
A

And that reset the screen to a lower resolution so that my monitor could display it.
