How good are the sequels to 80s classics?

I really liked Pac-and-Pal, but I feel like I'm alone there.

Can I count the NES version of Strider? That was a completely different game from the arcade one. Really fun, when your sprite doesn't try to go through walls or platforms. Both of those would be '89 though.

I've tried some of the Galaga sequels on collections, such as Galaga 88' and Galaga 3. Didn't really care for them too much. Legions was fun.

Dig Dug 2. That was a really cool sequel. Great sense of accomplishment when you destroy most of the island, clearing the stage.
