Shank 2

Post by Gamerforlife »

Soooo, anybody get this? I wanted to see some gameplay footage of various levels but it's hard to find videos on youtube without someone's stupid commentary. I want to HEAR, as well as see the game in action. For the youtubers out there, most of us care about the GAME, not YOU. When did youtube become so full of vanity?

Anyway, from what I've heard it sounds a lot better than the original, which I thought was a decent but flawed game that fell way short of the awesomeness of Castle Crashers and The Dishwasher Samurai games. This sequel sounds much improved though from what I've heard

Yeah I've kept a cautious eye on this as well. The second fell short of my expectations, so I hope this one corrects the issues I had with it.

Yeah, my big issues with the first Shank game are basically the same things that turn me off to a lot of beat'em ups. I thought that the controls and gameplay felt clunky and slow, which I also didn't like about the Scott Pilgrim game, and the game was cheap as hell in some parts. The reviews say this one has a more intuitive control setup and that the gameplay is faster, more fluid and more intuitive and I hear the overall difficulty is reduced, though survival mode sounds pretty tough

Ah heck, for ten bucks I'll probably give it a shot. Those low prices are what's so appealing about digital download games. Even if you don't like it, you don't feel like you made a big, regrettable error in your spending. I'll probably get it on PS3, which seems to be where I'm getting a lot of stuff lately. I just like the PS3 controller better for stuff like this. I generally don't enjoy combat oriented games on a 360 controller

I have the first one on Steam and therefore I am using a 360 controller. I didn't seem to have any controller issues. I'll wait for the inevitable Steam sale where this is like $2.

You have a point. I just don't remember the commentary thing being as common as it is now. It's like every time you click on a video for some game you have to listen to some dude's voice talking over the whole thing. It's such an annoying trend. I blame those Let's Play videos, don't know who started those things
