If prices are "too high", then why isn't everyone selling their copy at these outrageous prices with plans to re-buy the game in the future when the market value is lower?
Selling half my NES/SNES/PS1 collection (ending Dec 1):

Because it isn't like anyone can actually predict the future so if you bought the game for an already outrageous amount you'd be risking never getting it back.

So you can hold onto the game hoping the price will continually inflate, or flip it over immediately for little to no profit.

Man, I remember when people used to play with their toys. (Run in their sneakers. Wear their clothes. Etc.)

Dear gods, my life is playing out like a Steve Carell movie. :D

Actually... you can't tell if Earthbound has been removed from the bo... actually, wait, you can. (creases on the box, dammit)

My grandparents were really into antiques so it was instilled in me at an early age to keep everything as minty as possible. So sometimes it takes a lot of willpower to open some games up and not keep them in their pretty little wrappers. Sometimes I must remind myself that I bought the game because I want to PLAY it, not stare at it longingly.

This game has a ton of sentimental value to me. For some reason it was one of my favourites as a kid. I kept it at my parents house after moving out along with Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana and Evermore, Super Metroid and a few of my other favourites.

Earlier this year I decided to pull out my SNES and my old games and maybe go by a pawnshop to grab a few games for cheap. The only game still at my parents is Chrono Trigger, they're unsure what could have happened to the rest, and the games at the pawnshop are selling for insane prices. I decide to check ebay and see these ridiculous Earthbound prices among others.

My old collection was probably worth thousands (more sentimentally) and could now be exchanging hands between resellers across the world.

That being said, anyone have a copy for sale for less than ebay? :D

I remember seeing someone selling Earthbound complete at Animenext last year for about $300! The woman selling it was clinging on to it with her life. I think someone ended up buying it though  .

I've been considering selling my cart only copy of Earthbound. I haven't decided on an asking price, but it'll probably be less than the going prices on eBay. Keep an eye on the BST section, you might see it up there soon.

450 is WAY too much for Earthbound. To be honest, I don't think it would be worth that much brand new. I'd say more like 100-200 dollars for it complete.
