With your self proclaimed gamestop hate, it leaves me to wonder why you didn't stop at the independent store first...BoneSnapDeez wrote:One time, about a year and a half ago, I brought a used copy of Radiata Stories up to the counter at GameStop. The clerk took out the disc and said "hey man, I don't think you want this, it's pretty beat up." It was nice to see that kind of courtesy and honestly (but at the same time, the employees shouldn't be accepting games that beat up in the first place).
Incidentally, I lucked out that day because the independent gaming store across the street had a copy in perfect condition for the same price.

Re: Is Gamestop Evil? The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
My most recent experience with Gamestop was on my last Skylander hunt. I was told by the manager previously that they were getting more of them on a Friday night. So I got to the store right about when they would get the shipment (I use to work in the same mall and they have certain times they can get shipments through the bays). I walked into the site of the manager taking a shipping box of Skylanders under his arm into the backroom from the shipping box he was working. I asked him about Skylanders and he said that they did not have any in stock. I asked him about the box I just saw him take in the back room and he said that he bought them himself. He posted them on ebay that night, $100 a figure (MSRP of 7.95).
I cant blame him too much, when I worked at a Software ETC I bought a box of Pokemon cards when we first got them and sold them on Ebay shortly after. I was however upset for him leading me on. If he was planning on doing that he should have just told me from the get go.
Jokes on him though, I saw his auctions last week, now at $50 a figure...

I remember once getting off a ferry in Turku, Finland at 9am on a frigid, horrible Sunday morning to find not only my hostel closed 'til 3pm, but everywhere else following form, if opening at all. Then, there it was, the one solitary instance of life amid a plate sea of frozen commerce: a motherfucking Gamestop, opening, no less.CD AGES wrote:Perhaps cuz unlike said independent gamestore, Lamestops are located in just about every block lol!

Lol! It makes all the difference. Where I'm located there are plenty independent gamestores, but there is easily 3 times just as much lamestops in the area. I hate Lamestop just as much as the next guy but I always seem to walk into one just cuz they are unavoidable to stumble into one.

And I do drive a very distinctive vehicle and was in work uniform. I'm sure even law enforcement wouldnt care if a copy of RE 5 was destroyed. That disk was in terrible condition. I wouldn't pay a dime for something like that. The top of the disk had several deep seated scratches. I know for sure its against their policy to take those, but apparently they dis. Gamestop can get on the nuts.
I just casually broke the disk in my hands. Walked out wihout saying anything. Got in to my car. Pumped the gas and had to wait for it to warm up so it wouldnt die when i threw it in reverse( haha carburetor in 22 degree weather). The look on bro gamer #1 face assured me that what i had done was worth it. Trust me I would not scuffle with a gamestop employee. But don't tempt me!
So I guess it's completely justifiable to destroy private property as long as it's at GameStop? I mean, they're Evil Incarnate when it comes to companies, right? Why not go back and destroy everything? Why stop at one game??
edit: The ^above statement^ is mostly sarcastic for those of you who cannot detect it. Should've used blue text... Oh well.

Concerning the removal of Gamestop stickers from inserts:
I do hate how they do this with their stickers now, quite annoying and unessecary. There are two methods of removing this problem easily.
1. Already mentioned by the others in the thread.
2. This method is very useful if you have quite a couple or more labels you need to remove at once. Take the insert(s) out of the game case and take some strong alcohol, I personally perfer to use a vodka based alcohol such as 151. Now your going to want to pour that alcohol into a bottle, whether it's beer, soda, or whatever, a glass bottle just works best. Now take your insert(s) and gently slide them into the the bottle until the sticker portion is soaking in the alcohol.
The next step is tricky but should work very nicely and quickly, you have to be fast about it though. Prepare yourself a lighter and hold it at the top of the insert sticking out of the bottle. Here's the part when you have to be quick because it's tricky. You now must light the insert on fire and throw it into the Gamestop of your choosing and run away. If it had been done correctly the bottle will explode and catch fire to the Gamestop, hopefully in it's entirety. A note will be left behind saying along the lines of "Fix your shit now or there will be others ... no more glitter rack bull shit" Hopefully after the 10th Gamestop you've gotten to they will finally listen to our demands.
Of course I will leave my usual disclamier of: This method may not work. It may be very dangerous and could harm or kill yourself / others. Do not try at home. Do not expect for this to work. I am not resposible for your actions or any property / persons that may be harmed or damaged because of anything that was metioned / said / typed by me. Your results may vary online of course and is only available to U.S. citizens in the contenetal 48 U.S. states. Yadda Yadda Yadda.
