getting there!

I ordered the t-molding also today. Gotta get some finishing touches done to the cab, and get the control panel wired up still.

ITS ALIVE!!!

Got the control panel wired up, and got mame configured with a front end (what a pain in the ass that process was!) Still need to do the cosmetic work, but the electronics work! it was a blast to actually play it for a minute. Now that I played with the emulator and front end I know that I need at least 2 more buttons to keep it a keyboard-less operation for straight playing (not counting any configuring I may need to do)

Almost done! Got it in the house, and have been working on the software side for a few nights, mame is a pain to set up. I need to get a coin door still, and some finishing touches, but its pretty close to being done.

Finally a pic that isnt dark and in my garage!

The Mame logo at the top is sweet. Where did you get it?

I won't lie - this came out better than I first anticipated. You should be proud.

I'm not a huge fan of the faux-wood panel, but it ties in ok. I'd recommend a solid / shiny black across that front bare edge. Will make the white trim and blue base pop.

Again, nice job.

i got the mame logo online, and just printed it at my work (perks of working in a printing shop i guess)

About the control panel, its not a faux wood finish anymore, its an actual piece of wood laminate like your cabinets would have. you can very much feel the grain on the panel, but its still smooth. I had debated a while on what to do about the panel, and once I got this idea I couldnt get it out of my head.

I have more of the white trim that I was thinking about putting on the edge of the panel as well.
