You cannot make official ones. They have a proprietary IO board that interfaces with the PC for the controls and to route the displays. I talked to the guys that run Mechcorps at Dcon the last two years and they showed me all around them, they are brilliantly built. Because those IO boards, and the monitors, are very hard to find for sale, I am tempted to build my own.General_Norris wrote:How can you make your own BT pods? I wonder
How I would do it is a full HOTAS+rudders setup, a couple hacked up controllers for other controls. Displaywise, I was going to use a 27 or 32 inch lcd tv for the primary display. Sadly in MW4 there is no way to put HUD elements on other monitors, but you can disable them on the primary display. You can also have another PC setup as a spectator and in a follow camera angle/backup camera. Weapon indicators would have to be a manual process - ie rig up a light above each button for the weapon sets. As for a radar, there is apparently some way you can display it off of a dedicated server - I havent figured that one out yet. A buddy of mine who is heavy in the BT universe told me to wait for the upcoming titles before I do anything, which is the main reason I havent started building them yet - though I have a couple hundred designs floating around on my desks.
My girl has already told me that once we get a house the first thing she wants to install is four mech cabs.
