This was a long time ago I heard that one million was required. It might have been the case only for PS1/2.noiseredux wrote:from Wikipedia:

When Sony introduced the program for PlayStation in 1997, games could become Greatest Hits titles after selling at least 150,000 copies and being on the market for at least a year. Minimum sales required eventually rose to 250,000. When the program came to PlayStation 2 in 2002, games could become Greatest Hits titles after selling at least 400,000 copies and being on the market for at least 9 months. Suggested retail prices of Greatest Hits titles were initially $24.99, but they now typically retail for $19.99.

Older. Not wiser.

And that is why, years after the PS2s release, Scooby Doo games were Greatest Hits. It didn't take much. Sneeze, and your game was a Greatest Hit.

Definitely. In fact it's worse for me because I'm young. I have to play old games and new games. My backlog already killed itself.Hazerd wrote:They release games to fast these days, my backlog cries.
I can remember playing SNES,N64,Gameboy games repeatedly back in the day, not the same now...

Re: On Modern Gaming
I don't think this gen is any worse than the last two. I'm betting back in the SNES and N64 days you weren't seeking out and playing lots of old games, and that's the difference between then and now. I remember when I briefly flirted with being a current-gen-only gamer (back on PS2), I used to replay stuff all the time. When you're only focused on one set of systems at a time, it's a lot easier to play everything.3DSStrider wrote:Definitely. In fact it's worse for me because I'm young.
