That would've been true for John Lennon. Possibly even George Harrison. But not Ringo or Paul. Paul could write a catchy tune. Even if it was the shittiest written song in existence, Paul could typically make it sound half-decent.sabrage wrote: Come off it. If Paul McCartney hadn't been in The Beatles, nobody would give his work a second thought (and, indeed, it wouldn't exist.)
He had enough talent to make it on his own. He would've have been nearly as well known, no. Paul and John needed each other. But there was a reason that Paul had a better career post-Beatles than any of the other three.

T-Pain can write a catchy tune too, but I'm still listening to Aesop.YoshiEgg25 wrote: That would've been true for John Lennon. Possibly even George Harrison. But not Ringo or Paul. Next you'll say Ringo is a good drummer.YoshiEgg25 wrote:But not Ringo or Paul. Paul could write a catchy tune.sabrage wrote: Come off it. If Paul McCartney hadn't been in The Beatles, nobody would give his work a second thought (and, indeed, it wouldn't exist.)

Ringo was already known as a drummer when he became a Beatle, being the drummer for Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. He likely would've caught on somewhere bigger if the Beatles hadn't replaced Pete Best.KDub wrote:Next you'll say Ringo is a good drummer.YoshiEgg25 wrote:But not Ringo or Paul. Re: Image Link Dump Thread.
Seriously? All the shittalking on Paul McCartney is literally blowing my mind right now.. McCartney's greatest criticism was always that "he writes too many love songs." Which is funny, because that's all that ever has, or ever will, sell when it comes to music.
I was one of those rare kids that had parents that hated the Beatles and was never really exposed to them much until I met my Beatle-maniac girlfriend. I've listened to the entire Beatles catalog, as well as all four members side projects and solo stuff. Paul and Ringo made catchier, more likeable songs in the days following the Beatles than Lennon and Harrison, (although George was going for a more niche Krishna crowd, so I'll give him that.) The Beatles were always primarily Lennon and Paul when it came to the songwriting, and when it came down to it - the more technical, catchy songs were primarily Paul songs, while the more consumer-friendly, hippy-trippy songs were always Lennon, (or Harrison.)
Ringo's songs never really made it off of the refrigerator door..
Oh, and yes, that tanning bed on the right is Snooki.

Hmmmmm................
Well, to be fair those are commonly used shapes/symbols in Japanese/Shinto culture. It goes WAY back.

Also, Skyblazer was published, not developed, by Sony.

That's what I've always heard. Ringo is my favorite Beatle, TBH, although Lennon is a close second.YoshiEgg25 wrote:Ringo was already known as a drummer when he became a Beatle, being the drummer for Rory Storm and the Hurricanes.
