Which Road Rash is Which?
Is Road Rash (not Road Rash 3D) for PS1/Saturn a port of the Genesis game of the same name? Is the Sega CD game of the same name the same game as the Genesis or PS1 game, as well?

According to Wikipedia, no. The ones for the PS1 and Saturn were a port of the Road Rash for the 3DO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Road_Rash.

So the Sega CD one is an enhanced version of the Genesis game, then?

Re: Which Road Rash is Which?
Man I was just wondering the same thing. I played one for the PC back in the day at a friends, any one know if that was a port of the 3DO too, I am going to guess that the Sega CD was also, but I don't know.
Re: Which Road Rash is Which?
There are three Road Rash games on the Genesis.
-Road Rash (Genesis) came first.
-Road Rash II (Genesis) came second.
-Road Rash III (Genesis), I believe, came next.
-Road Rash (3DO) was a new game that brought the series into a more 3D world, but still used 2D sprites. It used licensed music from various punk, rock and grunge bands; the most famous being Soundgarden.
-Road Rash CD (Sega CD) uses the same style of graphics as the Genesis games, but some (or all?) of the same music, menus and style from the 3DO game. It's sort of a downgraded version of the 3DO game, but it still really its own game. It is very good overall.
-Road Rash (3DO) was later ported to the PC, Saturn and PS1.
-Road Rash 3D (PS1, maybe other consoles?) brought the series into the world of polygons. I've never played it.
-I think there was a N64 game, but I don't know where it falls in the series. There may have also been another PS1 game.
That's as far as I know. Personally, I've owned Road Rash I and II (Genesis), Road Rash CD (Sega CD) and Road Rash (3DO). I also played a lot of Road Rash III back in the day. I prefer Road Rash II and the 3DO game, although they are all REALLY good. I'd say the Sega CD version, but the load times mean that I'm more likely to pop in Road Rash II, or the 3DO version if I want the nicer graphics.

That was awesome, I couldn't have gotten a clearer answer. Thank you.Breetai wrote:There are three Road Rash games on the Genesis.

Re: Which Road Rash is Which?
Haha, I slightly updated my post. Still mostly the same, though. I mainly just clarified the differences between the Sega CD and 3DO game.
Also, if you care at all, Road Rash 3 never came out on the Japanese Mega Drive. Just Road Rash I, II and the 3DO games. Not sure about the Mega CD, PS1, Saturn, N64 and PC stuff.

Re: Which Road Rash is Which?
Here I am plugging myself again but we made a video a while back covering all of the Road Rash's except for the Master System version (which I still kick myself for not including).
There's a part about a local game store in the beginning, but the Road Rashness starts after that.

Road Rash (The 3DO original) was very good on the PC but I don't remember too much about it othe than it being a blazing fast game with lots of kicking everyone.
