oh they had to restore from an old backup... guess that explains why I only have two games now...
ugh, re-adding everything is going to be such a pain...

Yep. I wasted 2 hours adding half of my collection. :/ Although, truth be told, it was fun looking at everything again.AppleQueso wrote:oh they had to restore from an old backup... guess that explains why I only have two games now...

Except for the last week or so while they were down, everything is up to date on my profile. Strange.AppleQueso wrote:oh they had to restore from an old backup... guess that explains why I only have two games now...

Re: RF Generation Down?
I took a quick glance at the website and it appears that they restored the site using a backup from 2009! Wow, they didn't have a good backup strategy. It's important to have a good backup plan and more importantly, to test the backups (by doing a restore) periodically to make sure you're not backing up garbage. Hopefully it's a lesson learned for them.

Read it again. The backup is from December 2011.
Edit: looks like the forums are 2009, though

EDIT: The Wayback Machine doesn't seem to have more recent posts archived yet. Newest for me is late 2010, newest for the site is mid-2011.

So, the forum got screwed up... again. If you are affected by the forum screw up, I must extend my apologies. But, the forum is back up, using a backup from yesterday to restore order to the messages and topics.
We are very much trying to keep the site from doing this. We are doing daily backups to ensure all keeps going well. It pains us when this occurs. We all put so much time and effort into this site to make it our community. We will get this site back in tip top shape. The hackers may have taken us down, but we are not out. We will get through this.
