I simply asked "Do you still have any new PS2s in stock?" and this prick laughed forcibly and said "What? haha, did you just ask for a NEW PS2? Haha, no man, we have a bunch of used ones though!"

I just hung up. What an ass.
I got a similar response when asking if they carried the Hori Controllers for Gamecube. The guy seemed to not have a clue what I was talking about, so I went on to describe it and he bluntly interrupts me to say "Well maybe I don't know because the rest of us have moved on to current consoles." When I was a teenager, and I had a part-time retail job, it was drilled into me that customer service is #1. Apparently that's not the case in the 21st century.

You would think that the employees would be serious video game aficionados who'd be down to chat about games, past and present. I guess not. :?

At the two closest to me, one used to have a girl who actually knew what she was talking about, had knowledge of older generations, and actually gave a shit. I could always get her to pull the still wrapped new games for me.

Every other employee I've ever met at Gamestop is at best a COD Bro Gamer. They weren't even Gears of War bro gamers...

Nah man, I liken them to car salesmen. Car salesmen aren't car guys at all. They don't know shit about cars.

Right. Real car guys are always working on theirs tweaking things and have a half disassembled classic project car they mean to get back to working on any time now.

Wait, did I say car, I meant console.

again... this comes down to the fact that the employees are just people. I've met my share of d-bags at Gamestops, but I know plenty of employees at the ones I frequent who love talking about the differences in iterations of KOF or BlazBlue, have special ordered rare shit for me, given me free posters, and genuinely care about games. It depends on the person.

final fight cd wrote:i traded in a MINT CIB copy of castevania (even included the original receipt) to my local retro game store and they game me 3 bucks for it. since i don't give a rats ass about boxed NES games i just took it like a man and took my 3 bucks. and the thing is i havent seen it posted on the stores EBAY account. i also haven't seen it in the store for sale. it makes me wonder if the owner of the store just kept it for himself.

so mom and pop stores can dick you over as well.
Lucky. Dotgames give you ten cents a cartridge. It doesn't matter if it's NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, etc. Ten cents. I love the place,(that is where I got my NGPC and a replacement Dreamcast after all) but dang.
Then again, it's not like the games I give are rare, so...

I usually buy physical media at Gamestop. Some people might whine about how it hurts the developers, but I'm in 8th grade. I don't have a job, and I'm not super rich, so it's not like I have a choice. So yeah, you might complain, but when you're 13 it's a godsend.
Insert clever quote here.

Sealed Game Question

Image

The Good
Rayman Origins for the Wii, PS3 and 360 just went on sale today at Gamestop for $19.99. Used versions are a dollar cheaper. Gee, which one to get?

The Bad
The Gamestop I visited had a row of Rayman cases on display. They were in customer reach so all had the seal broken and the game disc removed. There were no sealed Rayman Origins, all were busted open. I ended up going to another Gamestop to get a new sealed copy. Why not display new games at eye level behind the counter on the back wall?!!

The Ugly
I know employees have to take out any disc from a case on display to prevent theft. Take a wild guess in the case of new busted seal Wii games how many have the Nintendo Points already redeemed?

My Wii Rayman Origins Sealed game did not come with Club Nintendo Points. I guess it is because Ubisoft put the game out. Most of my Wii games are bought used so I never paid attention to this.

My question is:

Do all Wii games made by 3rd party such as Ubisoft or just Nintendo produced games come with Club Nintendo Points?

All Nintendo games do, and then select other games. Often it seems to be games which are exclusive to wii/ds/3ds by other big companies such as Sega.
