I hear Mighty Switch Force is pretty excellent, and compensates its length issues with time trials. Developed by the same team that did Shantae.
Yeah, I'm enjoying Mighty Switch Force. It's a very simplistic game, but it's fun and distracting enough for the low price it goes for. Nice retro look and feel and creative use of the whole switch force thing, which makes blocks appear or disappear. It's like a puzzle platformer

I just downloaded Soul of Darkness as I dig its Castlevania vibe

is browsing for titles less cumbersome on the 3DS? I hate the DS's store front layout/UI (and the Wii's for that matter)

A bit better, but you're still best off knowing what you want and using the search function.

Yeah, it boggles my mind that there's no alphabetical list to browse through. Search function has served me well in finding games. Downloading stuff is kind of annoying too as I had to keep re-downloading before finally getting a full file

I like how quick and painless making payment is though, and I like that they ASK you if you'd like them to save your credit card info. As I recall, the Xbox 360 just permanently saves that info whether you like it or not

Pretty sure this is something with your internet again, I had no problems downloading ever. I also like the feature they added recently to queue downloads to automatically start when you next go into sleep mode. You can finally update your money with just enough to buy the game you want now too, although you have to do it through the game you're downloading's page, not the standard add funds option.

I find the 3DS eshop an improvement over the DSi shop but it's still cumbersome. I don't understand why it can't be faster like ITunes or XBox live. When I had to download my Ambassador titles, it took about a minute for each title to select and specify auto-download. The whole navigation, selection process could be much faster.

This is pretty good. I don't have any of the Mario vs Donkey Kong DS titles. Is this game different from those or is it the same but cut-down version?
Its actually its own game, and it has like 100 levels. Its actually basically Mario vs DK 3, it's a game in the series in it's own right, and for only 800 points. Its worth noting that whilst the goal is similar in all the MvDK games, they all play ever so slightly differently. As I said before, this ones more like lemmings, whereas the first on GBA is a puzzle platformer similar to DK '94 on game boy, and the other 2 on DS are similar to the DSi one, but with slightly different mechanics - for example, in the DSi one, you cant stop or turn around your mini-mario army, so you have to plan ahead to stop them walking into danger - which is how it resembles lemmings.

I finished this in full today, gold star ranks in each stage. Really good game, good enough to be worthy of a full, release on cartridge, but I'm not complaining. I like the price I paid for it and I feel like I got more than my money's worth. I'm really enjoying all of the cheap, quality DSiWare and eshop exclusives that I'm finding, this game has been my favorite so far.

Shantae may give it a run for its money, though I was rather annoyed by that game's first boss fight. There's only one way to do significant damage to it, which is a spell that works in a weird way that isn't explained, and I'm wondering what happens if you DON'T have that spell when facing that boss. Every other attack I used just didn't seem to do any meaningful damage as I was hitting the guy for what seemed like a billion times without killing him, until I finally tried that spell. I don't know, that just doesn't seem like good design

but anyway, great digital content available on 3DS. I've spend more time with downloaded games than any of the cartridge based stuff I own for it. I'd probably have beaten Super Mario 3D land already if I wasn't getting distracted by digital games and now I'm hooked on Little Red Riding Hood Zombie BBQ, which I always had trouble finding the actual retail release for, so I'm making due with the DSiWare version for now

No one has mentioned DodoGo! in thread. I've been playing it for quite a while now and it's been pretty excellent so far. It's very similar to Mario vs Donkey Kong: Minis March Again, but I think it may actually be a better game. This may be something of a hidden gem as it's not a game I've seen pop up when people talk about the best DSiWare games

Escapee GO!
It's a great game for the price of $2.
SHAMELESS PLUG ALERT: For a review, visit http://www.portableplatypus.com

Undead Storm, again, $2, pretty good fun for the value, but if you only get one $2 game I'd go for Escapee GO!

Alt-Play by Jason Rohrer, a pack of 3 indie games that focus on deeper themes. I definitely recommend these. Again, $2. One is Passage, which can be downloaded online for free.
