Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Fargo is definitely my favorite Coen brother flick; one of the few films I'd describe as 'perfect'. Lebowski comes close though.
I'd also really recommend watching Barton Fink at least once.

'O Brother, Where Art Thou?' has to be my favourite Coen brothers film, with 'Miller's Crossing' a close second. Most of their films are worth a watch though, beyond a few duds like 'Intolerable Cruelty'.

Phantom Menace 3D.
Well, it gave me hopes that the 3D effects in the original trilogy will work, and that's about it. The effects were less than great, but good. The movie was less than great, less than good.

Sabrage's Coen reviews:
Blood Simple: Interesting partner piece to No Country
Raising Arizona: Must-see
Miller's Crossing: Must-see
Barton Fink: Must-see
The Hudsucker Proxy: Haven't seen this one
Fargo: Must-see
The Big Lebowski: Gets better every time you watch it.
O Brother: Must-see, probably my favorite
The Man Who Wasn't There: Hard to appreciate if you don't like Noir
Intolerable Cruelty: Don't bother, I didn't.
The Ladykillers: I thought it was funny, but it's certainly divisive.
No Country to Old Men: Must-see
Burn After Reading: A bit below par, but still funny
A Serious Man: This is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen, and I barely understood what was going on
True Grit: Haven't seen it yet :/

Killer Clowns From Outer Space, a freaking classic. The internet suggests they might be making a sequel this year... (24 years late, but it could be worse)

Re: What was the last movie you've seen?
Blood Simple: have yet to see
Raising Arizona: great movie!
Miller's Crossing: have yet to see
Barton Fink: unfortunately, I have yet to see this too...I know, I know, I need to.
The Hudsucker Proxy: have yet to see
Fargo: Top notch!
The Big Lebowski: Most quotable movie of all time - all time favorite comedy
O Brother: Hilarious, but then again, I'm a Classicist, so of course I'd like something on the Odyssey
The Man Who Wasn't There: What sabrage said, but it's still good
Intolerable Cruelty: have yet to see
The Ladykillers: didn't finish, didn't care for it from what I did see
No Country to Old Men: Superb. Chilling, and worth every nomination and award it won, plus some.
Burn After Reading: have yet to see
A Serious Man: have yet to see
True Grit: Excellent, but the ending seemed like overkill. I wish they had excised it from their film. A different vein from the John Wayne original, but still great.

You mean the part with the Alien parody? I love that whole movie, it's a laugh fest from beginning to end.AppleQueso wrote:Just watched Spaceballs.

Finally saw The Artist. That one's a keeper
But, oh dear god, we had to go to The Villages to do it since it was the closest showing. For those who don't know The Villages is a giant retirement community in Florida. If you need a visual aid, picture Main Street in Disney World, except skewed to a much older demographic driving hundreds of colorful golf carts.
