Uh... have you heard of Chromehounds or Armored Core V?
Chromehounds was awful. Everything looked like it was coated in shit. I haven't played Armored Core, but the fact that it's a sim/customizer pretty much invalidates it from MechAssaults arcade goodness.
The customization is not that complex at all and the AC games are completely short level based, maybe play them sometime before you judge.

I'd put most AC's above MechAssault. 2's still my favorite.

This isn't even close to true. They have Killzone, Resistance, SOCOM 4 and... Haze. 7 games out of a 75+ retail exclusives is hardly a concentration.
We got Uncharted, so do we really need another game like Star Hawk even though it does look interesting.
But Uncharted and Starhawk are not even remotely similar games...?

I think I'll have to play Wild ARMs now. Did anyone play the original Warhawk on PS1? Hmm.

I'd love to see a new Sony JRPG. Of course, new JRPGs are great. Come to think of it, we've got a lot of solid ones coming soon...Xenoblade, Gungnir, Growlanser IV PSP, Suikoden, FF Type-0, Ni No Kuni. New is always nice though :)

Well, it's one of those games that has a bad journalistic rap and a devoted cult following, like Dynasty Warriors, so I've never felt the need to. Chrome Hounds was the same way, had the same developer, and I thought it was absolutely terrible.

MechAssault was a terrible, terrible abomination. At least the MechWarrior IP is being used properly again as part of MechWarrior Online. It's very clear from reading the dev diaries that they understand what the fans want.

If you like arcadey action then you should give Armored Core IV a try. It's got a lot of customization but the action is very fast and fluid.

I truly don't care about Battletech or its story. MechAssault was a blast.

You got at least 4 right there with sequels on top of i, so that's plenty for one generation.

I guess you really missed the point there. I know they're different, but forget the bad example. I am only saying RPG deserves some love too and I think Sony has the experience to do so.

What a great way to judge games, you're sure to get far with that attitude. All I was trying to do was point you in the direction of some other mecha games you might enjoy, there's no reason to be a dick about it. If you want to blindly hate on games because IGN and Gamespot said they're bad that's all well and good, but you'll really be missing out on some good games in the process.

Yeah, it's called "Suikoden: The Woven Web Of A Century". I had my doubts at first but it's actually looking pretty good. Here are some links with gameplay/screens:
