Amazing music and everything. I love the Quake 1/2 / Jedi Knight pixelated look, haha. Kind of fits the dark vibe and everything pretty well. It's no joke though, this game has some crazy level design like I've always heard.
Thief ain't no FPS. Might as well put Skyrim on here.
I've been slowly making my way through Metro 2033... I'm talking "I'll play it once every 3 months" slow.
Eh, I just wanted to talk about it. Where else would I talk about Thief? ... lol.
Some of you guys get way too hung up on genres sometimes.

Well.. all this talk about Metro2033 helped me beat it this morning. The last chapter of the game was pretty cool.
I have to say, if you want to have a good experience with this game you need to play it consistently. I forgot many of the game mechanics while going back every few months and I was wondering why I always ran out of ammo. Well, I forgot that I had the excellent money grade ammo and the crappy ammo. I had lots of crappy ammo that I never switched too. I might go back and play this again on a harder difficulty. The game is much more enjoyable when you know what you're doing.
I think it's time to move onto STALKER and maybe play some BF3 online.

You played it during the day?
I actually love the fact that your "good ammo" doubles as money. Metro is the only game I've ever played that renders the fact that bullets are actually really fucking expensive in-game. Besides, I pretty much use the insanely awesome throwing knives as much as possible.
I bet Xeogred is playing Thief with all the lights on too...
Nah. The only games that were legitimately scary to me were the Fatal Frame series. I don't see any reason to play Thief in the dark, the atmosphere is good enough and all. I have done that with plenty of games though from Dead Space to FEAR to Penumbra to RE4, etc. I'll admit though in one of my old homes it was pretty intense when my room was in the basement, playing Silent Hill 2 in the dark there was crazy awesome.
It is pretty funny how Thief has better atmosphere than most of these games though. Looking Glass knew what they were doing.
Metro isn't scary at all, lol. But I don't like the game at all anyways, I don't know why but I just think it sucks. At the time when it was new I thought Singularity was way better and since it kind of shares some of the same developers and ideas, it doesn't even compare to STALKER in my opinion.

I am awake during the day. I play whenever I have the urge. At night I'm usually into playing a shmup or death match online. During the day is when I get my stories in. I don't think I've ever been scared to play a game besides RE2 when I was like 15, but I've definitely been startled when something unexpected happens.
It's not a matter of "being scared," it's about immersion. To take a game like Metro or Thief and destroy the atmosphere with all the lights on... I could never do it.
