RAYFORCE / GALACTIC ATTACK / LAYER SECTION - Hi-Scores
Re: RAYFORCE / GALACTIC ATTACK / LAYER SECTION - Hi-Scores
will contact kowal about a group buy. he will be in hospital for 3 weeks. mid march he will be back. this makes the jlf viable as a shmup stick. oh how i hate that word. One thing he mentions as well is that the JLW is one of the best for shooters. Man should know his stuff what with all the sticks he has reviewed.

Was that a Rob (xexex) quote I just read? On Racketboy?
Craziness.
Craziness.

Interesting observation. and I got a screenshot from stage 1, and as you see, it appears the scoring is a bit skewed. Single enemies give 101/102 pts instead of a straight 100.mjmjr25 wrote:@Exedexes...I see a digit on the end of your score, is there something giving you single points? Typically the last digit of a score is continues used?

I have also turned continues off, and when I turned them on to see if it adds a point to the score (like in Raizing titles), it does not, it *resets* the score to 0, which a good shmup should.
Therefore, this is the proof that it is the particular romset that Taito Legends 2 chose to emulate. I watched a video from MAME on YouTube, and the scoring is straight 100/200 etc, and I'm guessing that is what the Saturn port does too.
I hope the score can still be accepted since I am not using continues. I can get the game on MAME if need be in the interest of fairness, but I like the TL2 experience, and I'm always finding something else to play when I finish up

No, score counts. Just was thrown by the end digit - very very odd to see that.
I'd prefer you play on a PC physical version than MAME
I'd like to get my TV's side by side and run Galactic Attack against Layer Section. I swear Layer Section is crisper looking, but I am aware i'm partial to both SAT-JP, and the title itself.

So I tried to play this in TATE, unlatched my Dell 24" monitor (since it only rotates clockwise
) and gently propped it up against the stand. That lasted about 5 minutes since it decide to do a swan dive off my desk. Thankfully I caught it before it hit the floor.
It was fun while it lasted. Back to the Panny with you Saturn!

I was playing on my TATE'd 13" CRT earlier. Just too small to get a solid play in. I switched back to my 27" and went horizontal again. For shits I played a round in TATE using the "Saturn" control option. This rotates the image but leaves your controls as they are, allowing you to play the game as a horizontal shmup.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo -- Battle Garegga/Batrider/1944 -- I wouldn't be playin em if I didn't like them -- I was just saying that they add a 1 to your score if you continue on them!! They're not the only ones that do that! (Capcom, etc)dunpeal2064 wrote:Didju just imply Raizing shmups arent good? Grr!![]()
