Cloudberry: "Mother of God... The Game"
Re: Cloudberry: "Mother of God... The Game"
How is that even playable?
Unless you already know the route or something... Maybe I'm missing the patterns and, like in "bullet hell" games there are patterns you get if you can look at the same scene for a while. In the youtube video they only show short clips so I couldn't spot it.
Ivo.

Looks kinda neat, though I can't say I get too exited about this whole "let's make an impossibly hard platforming game lol!!!" trend among indie/homebrew developers.

It depends on if it's real difficulty like Super Meat Boy, or fake "gotcha" gimmick difficulty like I Wanna Be The Guy.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Looks kinda neat, though I can't say I get too exited about this whole "let's make an impossibly hard platforming game lol!!!" trend among indie/homebrew developers.

I think the problem is that they put the difficulty first and then design around it, instead of giving it a good design, which is probably going to increase the difficulty.AmishSamurai wrote:It depends on if it's real difficulty like Super Meat Boy, or fake "gotcha" gimmick difficulty like I Wanna Be The Guy.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Looks kinda neat, though I can't say I get too exited about this whole "let's make an impossibly hard platforming game lol!!!" trend among indie/homebrew developers.

Are you referring to Super Meat Boy? If you play the Team Meat levels and then compare to the custom ones on The Internetz, it's pretty clear that there's a massive gap in talent between the two.General_Norris wrote:I think the problem is that they put the difficulty first and then design around it, instead of giving it a good design, which is probably going to increase the difficulty.AmishSamurai wrote:It depends on if it's real difficulty like Super Meat Boy, or fake "gotcha" gimmick difficulty like I Wanna Be The Guy.BoneSnapDeez wrote:Looks kinda neat, though I can't say I get too exited about this whole "let's make an impossibly hard platforming game lol!!!" trend among indie/homebrew developers.

Oh no, not at all. It's just a trend I'm seeing when it comes to understanding difficulty, I have not played Super Meat Boy (yet)sabrage wrote:Are you referring to Super Meat Boy?
