I was looking for something Japanese and a bit different to hang from my car mirror. It had to be Japanese since the car is a Japanese import. I was thinking of hanging a domo plushie, but decided it was a bit cliche and made my own hanger:



Had to replace the circuit board with cardboard so that the buttons still stayed "buttony".

Wow you have a Japanese import car, like literally imported? I saw on a ski trip once a japanses car with the legitimate japanses license plate and a rising sun decal on the roof. Pretty sweet.

If you could post some pics on the outside that would be nice.

It was imported from Japan into England in 1998. Other than the "G-Limited" badge and a few other cosmetic differences, its pretty much identical to the English and U.S MR2s. Although import ones are cheaper over here even though the Japanese tend to make their own cars slightly better than the Europr and US ones.

Sweet car, I'm looking at getting an MR2 for my next car. They look awesome. I too was going to import a real Japanese one. Any recommendations?

Make sure you take a good look over imported cars. They don't salt the roads in Japan so they don't need to rust proof their cars as much. When they're imported over here, they taste the lovely salty winter roads and rust like crazy. Check the underside of any import car and look in the cars history to see if its been rust proofed. If it hasn't, it would be a good idea to get it done. Should cost between £100-£400 depending on where you get it done.

Import cars are generally cheaper than the UK ones. No idea why, since the Japanese seem to make their own cars better than the ones they sell overseas.

Japan was the only country to get the turbo version of the MR2. Apparently its quite fast! Mine is the non turbo and its plenty fast enough!

I haven't taken mine out in the rain (its a weekend car only), but I've heard that they can get a bit twitchy on wet roads.

T bar roofs often leak. Not really an issue with mine since its replacing my old beach buggy which had no roof at all. I'm kind of used to keeping a close eye on the weather!
