small atari 2600 carts and overpriced atari?

Hi everyone,
I had just had a chance to get a sears tele games version of the atari 2600 from savars. It's a goodwill/donation store. I wanted to pick this up and play some great games but when I went to savers to pick this up for maybe 20-30.00, the lady checked it out on amazon and told me that since it goes for 350.00 new she would sell it to me for 80.00!!!! That's how I felt.
I also saw the 2600 carts and nothing rare but damn 4.00 a piece.did see these small carts for the 2600. I never saw these and I wanted to know if anyone has any info on them. Thanks

Sears games were clones of atari.

The atari is just at a point where its supposedly worth more now cause of its classic status.

There are ways to get atari's piece by piece cheap. Just takes time to do that.

Bundles are way easier to collect. But the price will go up.

Way back when, a reasonable price for a system with about 10 games was in the $25-40 range.

Now that amount can still be reached today, but some sellers will want more.

Most common atari 2600 games should be worth about 50 cents to $5.00

But a fiver is pushing it. It better be complete and pristine. Two bucks is an okay price.

Hit up thrift stores for lots of common games. If they have discount days, take advantage of them.

It is harder somewhat now to find 2600 games than it was a decade ago. But videogame collecting takes time.
