So what have you guys been watching lately?

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

I'm in the exact same boat, I think the timing is even right on.

Funny thing is, I was part of a test-group that saw the pilot before it aired, and I voted it down. I was in Vegas on my honeymoon and we got offered $25 a piece to do it, so I was like "Why not?". But I'm betting the excitement of Vegas made it hard for me to really appreciate it at the time.

I'm going to stop watching Once Upon a Time. I have watched the first five episodes or so and it seems to me that it isn't going anywhere. There's always something happening and you discover who is who and the plot keeps moving foward but I must ask, why? I mean, why is it moving foward? What is the series trying to tell me? I seriously feel like the series is some kind of an empty shell. There's no exploration of any themes and characters just seem shallow to me. Really, Plot Dump Kid should not be applicable to any good character, ever.

Sherlock is a lot of fun. Just seeing the actors do their stuff and throw snippets at each other is entertaining and the plots are very interesting. I like the interpretation of the Sherlock Holmes themes and it's surprisingly close in spirit while providing a good reason for me to watch it instead of just picking the books from my shelf. The cinematography is great tough why they keep getting those pretentious sequences in is beyond me, they ruin the party when they happen :(

I have also been watching Invader Zim and I'm loving it a lot. It's really dark and pessimistic but that's the reason it's so fun to watch. The socialsatire is top-notch and the psychology of it is simply fascinating, I'm getting the DVDs for sure.

BTW it's true that the fans are obsessed with GIR lol.

One of my brothers just bought several of the seasons. It's still great, but today's rap and hip-hop music sounds nothing like what's played in the show. That type of music was so much better back then.
