Obviously I wasn't speaking as myself as someone who is a Sony fanboy, I just find it hilarious when people claim Sony is the best etc. usually in terms of their non PlayStation offerings.

What I hate is when thrift stores around me charge extra for Sony TVs, even if they are 20 years old. It's not unlike the Mario premium that many video game dealers charge.

Sony TVs, especially ones that are 20 years old, would be vastly superior to almost any TV that you would find at a thrift store. You'd have to be comparing it to a brand like Mitsubishi to complain.

Really? I've always heard that Sony is over-rated as an electronics brand. I've never owned a Sony myself.

Sony made good electronics back in the 80s. But then they started cheaping out and coasting on reputation, IP, and generally throwing their weight around.
