I'll be watching both, as well as Chronicle, Amazing Spider-Man, Ghost Rider: Spirits of Vengenace, and G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. It's a good year to be a geek. And to end it all in December, THE HOBBIT!!!

Besides, it's the snacks that really get you. The trick is to have your wife/girlfriend bring a large purse, we like to stick some freshly bought McDonald's in my wife's. Nothing like McDonald's fries and a shake with a movie.

There's a local theater that allows people to bring in food. Greatest Idea Ever.

No, that's what his wife's purse is for. They're usually referred to as "burger purses", and I don't mind them as long as the popcorn smell can knock out the stink of McDonalds (not to say that I've never had a Big Mac attack). Not sure if it's a nationwide thing, but our Carmike has "stimulus Tuesdays" where the drinks and popcorn are just a buck a pop.

I remember in high school there was a theater that you could still smoke in, and all I will say is that I ended up seeing Mortal Kombat with a few friends several times. The same theater is segregated, and I think it's still open. But it's so weird to see signs like "Colored Entrance" in a modern building.

Last thing I sneaked into a theater would be a flask of whiskey. I had just broken up with Katie Kelly #1 (somehow I dated two Katie Kellys, back to back at that), and we were going out to see The Truman Show with friends. Katie was with our group, and I sat next to her the entire movie sipping away. as I wanted to be anywhere in the world besides next to her.

If you head over to whedonesque.com

they have some links to some early reviews. Seems like the response has been very positive. Given the good response Cabin in the Woods also seems to have gotten, Whedon may finally have a real foothold in the movie industry. Here's something I copy and pasted from the site:

"Southwest Riverside News rated the film 5 out of 5 stars and states "I can't think of any flaws in this movie." Big Shiny Robot's review is pretty spoilerish but states that "The movie not only sets the bar for summer superhero movies, it may have knocked it so out of the park that it may be a mark that everyone else is constantly chasing" and rated the movie 7 out of 4 stars. And finally a lucky Australian fan on Weekendnotes.com says that "Embedded in these unlikely relationships is Joss Whedon's signature humour. Yes it's a bit of a cliché', but the film is surprisingly funny" and rates the movie 5/5."

Finally?

He did the screenplay for Toy Story back in 1995. Hollywood admires the guy to no end and he's been working in moves for decades.

If anything it's the fact that "Joss Whedon" is finally becoming a household name.

And if any of youse guys hasn't watched Dr.Horrible, youtube it for freebies. NPH, Nathan Fillion and the gorgeous Felicia Day (still jealous that N.Barnatt got to meet her).

Nathan Fillion and Felicia Day are two celebrities I would love to meet. Fillion is a class act and I imagine Felicia is probably a dream girl for a lot of people on this forum.

I heard there was once talk of a Dr. Horrible sequel.

Yeah, I know he's been involved in movies for a long time, but he's never had a real hit movie that he is fully credited for. Serenity didn't exactly light up the box office.
