What Made you Smile/What Ticked you off Today?

Smile: Got a dentist appointment for tomorrow morning. I was expecting to have to wait for a week or so. Yay!

Frown: I'm in my late 20's but I definitely don't look like it. I have a full beard, which helps, but I still look really young. I do not get taken seriously at work because of it and it is pretty damn frustrating. This is nothing new, I've been working since I was 15. But for some reason it is getting on my nerves more and more lately. It reminds me of why I left the Navy in the first place. I just have this feeling like things should be different at this point in my life.

Smiled - Just found out that two of my side projects might start making me lots of money this year, ALMOST enough I could quit my job and just do them full time. Its just good to know that I can fall back on it.

Ticked - Found out that I did 52% of the work for the two departments I work for at real work so far this month per our ticket system. And everyone in the other department bitches about how much work they have to do.

I've been feeling that way myself lately. I'm seeing 16-year-olds getting farther in life than I am, and it's frustrating. Having no job really puts the brakes on things.

Same here, I'm 22 and I've never had a job of any sort. I'm not lazy, I just struggle a lot with anxiety that makes it hard to get out and do "normal" day-to-day things. It's really frustrating that what's holding me back is fear, I wish the frustration would actually give me some drive, but honestly it doesn't.

Anyway, I'm just agreeing with the part about how 16 year olds are doing better than me at this rate. It makes me feel even more shitty.

I remember that feeling. It's what made me join the military back in 2001. I felt this need to do something radical, force myself to change. It worked pretty well. I still feel behind the times when I see people my age or younger who are raising families and buying houses and stuff. So far most of what I have to show for myself is a really good resume and a lot of zany experiences.

: An Amazon purchase isn't working out like it was supposed to. I bought a PS1 game, and the seller neglected to mention that it came in a generic DVD case instead of the original box. I filed a claim, and so far, no response.

LEGITIMATE GRIPE. Good sellers tell you EXACTLY everything about an item with pictures.

That's actually easy to fix. I found out from opening my old DC up to try to tinker around in it.

Just flip the DC over, unscrew the 4 corner screws, turn it back up, remove the top half of the case, and make sure the area near the Power button on the top half gets cleaned real good, including the underportion. Also check the actual clicky-switch on the unit to make sure it doesn't stick. After that, just put it back together.
