Can you beat all of the games you own within your lifetime?

Currently, yes, I could, though I'd make much better progress in doing so if I stayed away from MMOs.

Since I do accumulate games faster than I beat them, eventually I'd reach the point where ever actually playing through them all wouldn't be feasible. I just don't think I'm there yet.

I have under 100 unbeaten games on my backloggery. At the moment, I buy way too many games, and i've had anywhere between 60 and 90 unbeaten games for several years now, despite beating about 70 a year for the past 3 years. I could finish off my unbeaten backloggery quite quickly if I just cut back on what I'm buying. That's the real problem

Anyhow, someone I knew on backloggery once had formula like this for working out how long itd take you beat your backloggery. It was very rough - take the number of years you've been gaming, and divide the total number of beaten and completed games in your backloggery by it. The you times the result by the number of unbeaten games you have to work out how long it'd take you to beat them. When I did this, it said it'd take me 4.7 years to beat my backloggery. Of course, considering how many more games I buy now than when I was 5, it's probably gonna be far higher

Yes, I think I could. I'm probably only to buy new games for another 5 years or so and then focus solely on retro game hunting. Eventually, I'll barely be purchasing any games and I'll have time to finish everything I haven't been able to yet.

Another tangentially related question, do you have an imaginary future house that you believe you will one day have that you can fill with an endless supply of videogames?

I always imagined having a huge house one day that would have like a whole wing that was nothing but games. Now I have a pretty big house and it's amazing how quickly they fill up with other stuff. Thank god for space saving digital downloads.

Oh man do I ever! I need my man cave badly, the whole apartment thing is just not cutting it anymore.

I doubt I'll ever beat every game I own unless I lose my job and never have to work again. I'd probably have to get divorced too. I just have waaayyyyy too many games and I keep buying new ones so that doesn't help. Not mention I have a lot of games that you technically can't "beat". You have games that just keep looping or wher you're playing for high scores. Like take the original Mario Bros arcade port, I'm currently playing that and just obsessing on trying to top my last high score and it's driving me insane but I keep coming back for more! Things like that will happen and I put a lot of my spare time into it. It just depends on my mood really. I'll eventuqally get bored and go back to trying to complete a game that I can beat like Ninja Gaiden Trilogy on SNES.

Ok I rambled long enough.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

My collection has not gotten to any ridiculous amounts yet, I would estimate I have maybe around 175 games total. I dont ever plan on beating a game, I will play it and if I like it then I will keep going. That being said, I have a problem with starting too many games at once and cant keep up on any one very well.

That being said, if I stopped picking up games I could easily beat all my games as long as I buckled down to play them through.

No, but I would like to get a room for keeping stuff plugged in, instead of needing to plug and unplug stuff. I don't like having barriers like that. When I want to play X, I'd like to go and play it, not have to set it up before.

I've got such a room. It's pretty awesome. It does require either a lot of TVs or several switch boxes. If you go with switch boxes I recommend getting ones which are remote-controllable and getting a universal remote, like the Harmony, to manage it.

^ What Popo said. I wouldn't try setting up multiple switches for just one TV. I also wouldn't recommend my setup, which has x4 TVs, and two desktop rigs. I'm starting to feel slightly claustrophobic. It is nice having older consoles plugged into SD sources to play things natively, and keeping current gen stuff hooked up to your HD sources. You'll pay for it in square footage, but it's worth it, imho.

I can't. I'm too much of a lazy bastard and I don't really expect that to change

I'm also fucked if I have to beat Beatmania. Seriously.
