what do you think of the simpsons arcade game on xbla/psn?

I played it last night at a friends house as I don't have a 360. It was pretty fun but it is rather short as are a lot of the old Konami beatem ups of the 80's and 90's. If you have bought X-Men arcade or one of the TMNT arcade games off PSN/XBLA then you know what to expect. If you aren't playing it for nostalgia then I wouldn't recommend buying it unless you are a really hardcore Simpsons fan.

I remember talking about this game coming out on PSN or Xbox Live Arcade once on the board and no one paid any attention to me like I was just making it up

This, TMNT Arcade, and the X-Men game (also on XBLA/PSN now) were off the hook in arcades back in the day, heh. Always loved playing these games.

The fact that they've all been released makes me think hell has frozen over. Too bad they couldn't give us the original Turtles in Time arcade game instead of that remake

I wonder how this game will look on my 32 inch, flat screen

I want to see some Capcom beat'em ups on there now!

Haha yeah, I never thought I'd see the day myself. I wonder how well the Simpsons game has held up overtime, heh.

But yeah I definitely hope they keep the classic beat em' ups coming.

They even added the japanese version, that's classy right there. Here's what I've learned about that version

"There's also a Japanese version of the arcade machine with a few minor differences. Its difficulty setting seems to be lower, and health ups seemingly a tad more plentiful. You also get much higher scores in the Japanese version, and extra points are rewarded based on how much health you have left after finishing a stage. Finally, the Japanese release allows you to jump while armed with melee weapons, whereas that's not possible in the American version"
