Totally agree with the guy. And the skit at the end was awesome!

Totally agree, but there is a problem with the current generation of gamers... When a company does listen and re-releases a classic game, be it downloadable or retail, they complain that the company is just trying to grab more money by charging us for the same game over and over.
I hear this complaint most often with Capcom, not pertaining to the fact that they have a habit of updating their fighting series with full retail re-releases. People complained about the Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica re-releases, same with any of the HD fighting game re-releases (SFII, MvC2, SFIII: TS)
Sure, we here in the niche community enjoy companies releasing classic games, but the current generation is so jaded to older games because they dont have "good graphics" or lack multiplayer, so it must be a tough decision on companies to release older games.
Honestly though, I feel that companies are doing a pretty decent job of keeping classic games alive, the Neo Geo Station on PSN is pretty cool, the 3ds is turning out to be a pretty good system to get your classic kick on, Konami released a few of their arcade classic beat um up's as downloadable titles (even The Simpsons one that the video has plenty of footage of) and there are plenty of compilations to pick up that provide a great value. I dont think we will ever see all these classics become "public domain" like the video seems to hope for, but the more we embrace the companies releasing classics, the more inclined they will be to keep them coming.

That's utter retardation. If you don't like it, don't buy it. They're not charging anyone anything.jay_red wrote:Totally agree, but there is a problem with the current generation of gamers... It's extremely fucking annoying with Capcom's new releases, to the point where I skipped MvC3 entirely. Gamers shouldn't be expected to pay 2-3 times for the same fucking game just to experience it. I have no problem with upgraded older content like SF3, though.

I agree with jay. I'd rather have too many choices than not enough. Capcom catches a lot of flack, but the PSN versions of MvC2, SF2, SF3, Puzzle Fighter were all fantastic. And now feature co-op, which is definitely a selling point no matter how you cut it. I'd also reiterate SNK's amazing re-releases as part of NeoGeo Station.

Good stuff. I love compilations, so yeah... keep them coming companies!
Re: The Game OverThinker "Open The Vault" speaks truth!
They didn't release enough of them to the PC -- and usually we get the short end of the stick on them.
I have
Midway Arcade Treasures 1 (re-hashed collection of 3 previous Win 95 compilations)
Midway Arcade Treasures 2 (StarForce DRM and missing sound that required a patch)
Taito Legends 1 (surprisingly, no issues!)
Taito Legends 2 (StarForce DRM)
Sega Mega Pack (sadly, another collection of games for Win 95/98 that don't do well on XP)
Atari 80 Classic Games (they actually nailed this one, but it's a bitch to run in Vista)
I would get the Namco Museum 50th Anniversary, but that too has StarForce DRM and is very difficult to find, not much value to it I feel.
I know I'd have to crawl out of my 5th gen hole for the good Capcom, SNK, Data East, etc....
As long as Capcom keeps putting EXED EXES on their releases, that's fine
