There are some simple tricks that make that boss not really too tough. Its mostly knowing when to stop moving as you side step those 3-stick patterns. All the other shots are aimed, and if you stop for a second, those huge quick bullets will pass you.

Still, damn nice score. You can see how much I half-assed scoring, since you have almost beat my score and I was near the end of stage 5.

Lots of room for growth - i'm only getting about 350-400K out of the flamingos, as the first few times i've only had 1 bomb remaining - need to get past first boss w/o bombing. Second boss for whatever reason is cake now. 3rd boss is still giving me troubles - I may do some "continue" throughs for more practice.

Second boss for whatever reason is cake now. 3rd boss is still giving me troubles - I may do some "continue" throughs for more practice.

Nice man! I really love that everyone is in the same ballpark of skill, it will be a really fun challenge keeping up with everyone.

Oh, and for anyone curious, if you clear the game, you unlock 2 superplays that will blow your mind. You have to plug the controller into slot 2 to get superplay 2.

I did this without looking, as I didn't want to see parts of the game that I hadn't reached yet, but the superplay is really useful to learn early game tricks, like medaling and boss milking.

Did some crazy ass medal chaining on stage 2. Not sure what I did :/

Started getting gold "s", then "ssss", then "Ssss" then I started getting these nazi eagles for like 25K a pop. Hit 1.6mil AND missed the flamingos - I feel a 3mil run coming soon.

Its yagawa/raiden style medalling.

Pick the last medal on screen up, and the next will be bigger. Spawn more before picking up any on screen, and theyll be the same value. Drop one and it resets the chain.

If you lose chain but have high value medals on screen, you can recover your chain by picking them up before more spawn. Since the chain was reset, the ones you spawn after a drop will be lowest value, even if you have higher medals on screen.

If you get a mix of both, make sure the last one you get is high.

I'm hit and miss w/the flamingos - sometimes now i'm getting almost a million out of them, sometimes 300-400K. I'm using GAIN now, his bomb is centrally located, but pretty small - but I love his power ups, using 3rd button to center all 4 fists in front of you for a direct shot, i'm taking the first boss down in like 8 seconds now...and keeping my bombs for the flamingos.

Gain is great -- that's who we'll be seeing the most of on the list here -- but that is what is nice about this game, seeing our best scores with the best characters.

Got to stage 4 at 1,244,100 with Miyamoto (SATURN). A rather low score for that far apparently. How did you guys get such a high score?
