This is why I love old videogames. Randomly, a title that has not seen light for 30 years, or a odd prerelease copy is found at a boot sale. This is just awesome. I bet the game is terrible, but Id still love to play it.

WTF are you talking about? We're a retro forum. Why wouldn't we care about 2600?
I think BoringSupreez meant that we're more Sega and Nintendo zealots than Atari zealots.

Yeah I've only been here for a few months but I haven't heard much about Atari in the time I've been here. Could just be because I skip over it since it's not something that I personally have any interest in. But even so, I do find this interesting, just because it's crazy. haha

Hell, we probably have more Sony zealots than Atari ones. I own a 2600, but only because I got it passed down from my dad. In general, generations 1 and 2 don't exactly have the best games IMO, and even most of 3 doesn't stand up to 4 through early 6 (when the DC was alive and well, and even when it was killed off and the GC was getting more than one good 1st party game a year).

Is that a 3DS XL in your pocket, or are you just glad to see me? ~ZeroAX

Yep.
*looks at stack of new 2600 cartridges*

There's a few.

*Not really a zealot, but I'm finding a lot of cool stuff and it's quite a lot of fun to collect for. Definitely underrated in terms of game selection (not historical impact, I think everybody appreciates what it did)

I find the 2600 to still be one of the most interesting consoles of all time.

Absolutely agree. There was a "wild west" feel too, with all kinds of 3rd party stuff that wasn't approved by Atari/Warner bros.

Here's a reading rainbow moment- check out "racing the beam" if you're really interested in the architecture of the system.
