How to beat Vamp in MGS4

How? I pump lead into this freak and down him about 10 times then I get killed. Do you have to use the MK-2 w/ Anesthetic darts to down him first then shoot him?

Strip naked and have your way with him, giving him the foxdie aids. It's his weakness.

Yup figured it out. That was an hour wasted but it felt so good to finally finish that boss fight.
