LOL, when I first popped in Sonic Generations I was like "please have that level, please have that level." Needless to say I was thrilled to re-experience it in HD.
Sorry to derail, but does Generations feel like the original titles? Hate to spend $50 on another disappointment.

you've obviously not read the Sonic Gens thread then. I think it's the most unanimously loved game on this board. It seems everyone who has played it -- regardless of their prior experience with Sonic -- has loved this game to pieces.

I haven't. Today is actually the first day in a while where I've actually been able to spend time searching the board and catch up. Thanks man, I'll check that thread out, and may have to pick up a copy today.

I included it in my list of Top 10 games of 2011 even. It took me oh 6 or 7 hours to beat, but that was done in like two days. It's just one of those "OMG I wanna keep playing!" games.

This is so good to hear. I was transfixed by someone playing the demo in the mall and had this huge goofy smile on my face the whole time, but still a part of me was hesitant.

Well, no more!

yeah that's sort of the thing about it. It makes you feel like a little kid seeing Sonic for the first time again. So awesome.

And since we are mentioning Sonic Generations, can I add that game? You just press start, the familiar music loads, you get thrown into a nice level, no stupid cut-scenes no nothing :)

I really felt like I was taking part in a movie. The same could be said for Metal Gear Solid 2, but I didn't enjoy that game as much as I did the first.
The opening level in Metal Grear Soild 2 was the best part of that game though.

I'm gonna go with the obligatory Super Mario Bros world 1-1

and of course Super Mario Bros 3, world 1-1

Yeah, noise is right. I liked it, JT liked, dsheinem liked it. It was really well received by a lot of people on the board. I enjoyed it more than Rayman Origins and Super Mario Land 3d, which are two platformers that received a lot more attention last year than Sonic Generations did
