Its a Konami/Treasure shmup, so it definitely has its memorizer moments, and I can understand why that could be irritating. The vertical levels definitely take some getting used to.

. Gonna boot this up in a few minutes here, really excited to get back into this. Lets see if I can keep that Gusto going and not get pissed off and go back to Garegga (Must curb Yagawa addiction)

Alright, first run was sloppy, as I lost 2 lives at the midboss for some reason, but I was in the zone for stage 2.

Dunpeal2064-77,850-stage 2 (boss)

I love the stage 2 music, and I love that 2nd weapon. Managed 42k at the end of st1, for future refference.

Edit: Had time for one more credit before I go drink at my buddy's.

Dunpeal2064-165,490-stage 3 (boss)

Never been that far, that boss is awesome! Can't wait to see the next hori stage.

Not sure if something is off - but I lose minimum 2 lives on stage 2 when the board speeds you through those air-cliffs. How do you not crash into them? The board is forcing me into them - i've tried a few different tactics, speeding up w/the board, pulling back, etc.

Do I have to select a certain pattern?

Anyways, my crap score:
39,650 - SNES

Back to Garegga for a bit.
Do you mean stage 1? Yeah those are a bit tough. Best thing to do is to move alongside them. By that I mean, get in a good position before it starts, but when they start rolling down, move to the right and then when they change direction, move left. You'll notice they scroll right, then left.

Wait till you see the next 2 bosses (4 & 5). 5 will blow your mind

Off to play -- will try to make it to 6 and die like I usually do -- Stage 6 is no easy trip!

For that fast part in stage 1, hold only left or right, dont try to move up or down. Also, dont shoot. Those mines shoot sui bullets, and arent even worth points if you kill them.

Done!

605,290 -- Stage 6 (boss)

Forgot how harder Normal is (when I first started out I always did Easy, and I think that's how I've grown soft on shmups over the years)

To all of you, don't give up! This score is easily attainable, and remember the mad extra lives you get. It was unfortunate that I ate up 2-3 on the way to the boss at the end. You all can pwn me on the Battle Garegga and what not

If you want to see the end of the game and set your memorization and pattern strategies, play on Easy to get through the end and then prepare for Normal.

Anyways, watch when you get to Level 4 -- the boss has a NASTY habit of using a weapon that SWITCHES YOUR WEAPONS rapidly, so you may end up with one you weren't planning on using. Also, you will see a branching path option. Take the UPPER route, it's a little less dangerous. Also, if you see blue blob-like enemies try to latch on your ship, they will weigh you down, so move the d-pad quickly to shake them off.

Anything else you may need help with, let me know. I will not let the end of the game get away, but it's still good to know I can 1-credit to there :)

I just noticed that you can't see your final score after you die in UN Squadron, making it a terrible candidate for Capcom. :(

This is the level that always gets me. Love the level itself, even if it saps my lives. The boss is a cheap bastard though.

Haven't been to the boss yet, but it seems they implimented yet another unusual idea in this shooter. This game has that treasure "Breaking the Mold" feel to it, but not to the point of RS or Ikaruga. More of a mix between Gradius and, well, Treasure. lol.

I think Exed is gonna run the table on us this month though.
