What Final Fantasy game would you like to see in HD?

FF 9 for me. Its easily my favorite FF, and I'd be first in line for a remake.

That's true for me too, but the major problem is that many key members of FF VII are gone or semi-retired from SquareEnix. I have to tell this to every gamer that does not fully understand East Asian culture, SENIORITY counts. The GameCube remake of Metal Gear Solid has a story behind it:Dylan wrote:I think that of the options listed, an HD upgrade would be best suited for FFVII. That game has aged graphically far worse than every other option, it really does look bad now.

Basically, if anyone in Japan is planning to do a HD remake of VII, they would need to meet the original creators (from graphics, gameplay - the battle and materia systems needs a serious overhaul, and MUSIC -> Nobu!), and have their approval. This will not be an easy task at all, granted in Western world, the company owns the IP of the game, and could hire someone from the outside to do it, but not in Japan, where tradition is strong.

I don't see the story in the Wikipedia article, can you summarize it?skyknight wrote:That's true for me too, but the major problem is that many key members of FF VII are gone or semi-retired from SquareEnix. Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

Kojima was there.Stark wrote:I don't see the story in the Wikipedia article, can you summarize it?skyknight wrote:That's true for me too, but the major problem is that many key members of FF VII are gone or semi-retired from SquareEnix. Kojima had to give his approval on several "enhancements" of his game, such as the FPS view for using weapons.sabrage wrote:Kojima was there.Stark wrote: I don't see the story in the Wikipedia article, can you summarize it?
The Tactics Ogre remake on PSP was possible due to SquareSoft acquiring Enix, thus reuniting everyone that was on board on the SNES release; the SMT Persona remakes on the PSP did have everyone that was on the PS1 release.
Re: What Final Fantasy game would you like to see in HD?
It seems to me I was reading an article recently where there was a big blow up about changing the voice acting and finally the actor in question just gave up the rights, because he didn't want a fuss. I wonder if that is a similar situation? Can't remember what game.
EDIT: I thought of it, it was Silent Hill HD.
