Continuing the derail, another black-and-white film I'd suggest is M.

I'm stuck with loyal Sony family members (who will no doubt let it gather dust when the next console comes out like they did with the PS2) that mainly play FPSes all day. I'm the only retro gamer in my family so it sucks not to be able to play 2-player with anyone whenever they come over because they all flock to the PS3 to play Madden '12. Maybe they're too scared to challenge me in Madden '94.

I don't know if I like what you're insinuating here. But I play tons of NeoGeo games on my Sony consoles.arnold_the_bartender wrote:I'm stuck with loyal Sony family members

I probably should have said Playstation. I could care less if they play on Sony Hardware but they don't play anything else besides what's made for the platform itself then they'll totally disregard them when they get old. You're playing Neo Geo games on them. That's different. I sometimes emulate on the Wii. I'm hoping to get emulation set up on my OG Xbox as well.noiseredux wrote:I don't know if I like what you're insinuating here. the same thing happens with most of my friends and family members here. they call my retro consoles/games "old" and "out of date" and they rather play with the PS3, 360 and the Wii when they come over. Some of them are even surprise I'm not into Call of Duty or has the new installment of the series since they know me as a gamer. But I do like playing SSF4 and NBA2K12 with them.arnold_the_bartender wrote:...I'm the only retro gamer in my family so it sucks not to be able to play 2-player with anyone whenever they come over because they all flock to the PS3 to play Madden '12. on the next meet-up we should play NBA Jam or Tecmo Super Bowl.

I'm talking about the NeoGeo Station re-releases on PSN. They're amazing arcade ports of NG games, except now they support online play. Brilliant.arnold_the_bartender wrote: I probably should have said Playstation. Even in that case, I applaud that. Online play makes it a whole lot better (more replay value might I add). Who wouldn't be excited about that? I'm not trying to come off as some hardware purist (if I did then oops, I can't stand people on both the extreme sides of the spectrum). The point I'm trying to make (along with this thread being about appreciation for classic games) is that I'm surrounded by people who don't have an open mind and have total disregard for classic games, whether they are re-released on the current modern platform they are playing or not. I just bought Sonic CD off of Steam not too long ago.noiseredux wrote:I'm talking about the NeoGeo Station re-releases on PSN. I'm surprised they play Street Fighter with you, unless you go easy on them?sevin0seven wrote:the same thing happens with most of my friends and family members here. they call my retro consoles/games "old" and "out of date" and they rather play with the PS3, 360 and the Wii when they come over.
