Oh shit, I forgot about that. It was a bonus on the MGS2:Substance disc. Konami was about to release a skateboarding game so they took the engine from it and threw it in MGS to advertise said new skate game. Man that was a wierd piece of advertising on thier part.Mozgus wrote:I think once they put Solid Snake on a skateboard, all boundaries and dimensions were broken.
Dumbest (and lamest) thing I've ever seen in video game...

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

Mogzus........I feel you Pizza Hut sucks. But hey man, Godfathers didn't deserve to be in that list! They are SOOO much better than most chain pizza. It ain't like a local pizza shop but Little C's and Papa Johns just can't hang. Pizza is serious business man....you've got some explaining to do
What is this Metal Gear game? Isn't that the tech demo that made me want a PS3? J/K....haven't played any of them since NES though. Not my cup of tea.

Did you PLAY MGS? When the Colonel told you to change the controller ports while fighting Psycho Mantis? When Mantis told you what games you liked playing based on what was on your memory card? Koijima breaks the fourth wall all the damn time.Flak Beard wrote:I hope I'm not being labeled as an MS fanboy here, because I've certainly thrown a lot of money Sony's way over the last decade. Both model PS1s, both model PS2s (one at launch), a PSP and I plan to get a PS3 in the future. I also have nothing wrong with the humor in the MGS games. Although, when you take it outside the game and actually reference the product the game is on (and it's features), you have to question the meaning. This stuff is best left for press conference or advertising, but to actually bring it in to the game development is lame. It's amazing what you get away with when everyone thinks you're a game developing genius.
Imagine if a game like Halo referenced things like "Xbox Live" from within the game's story? People would be up in arms.
But perhaps I am wrong, and Hideo is just trying to put an end to the MGS4 on 360 rumors. Of course, I wouldn't exactly consider him a credible source on the necessity of BluRay anymore considering his game has two 90 minute cut scenes. Looks like we know where all that extra space went to. Anyway, that's a whole different topic altogether, one I don't wish to discuss in length.

I didn't like the NES games either but ever since Solid, I've been a fan. You should try it, you might be surprised~gradualmeltdown wrote:Mogzus........I feel you Pizza Hut sucks. Yes I remember the switching controller ports but I also remeber something about MGS "corrupting" your other data as a joke.Funk, E wrote:Did you PLAY MGS? Older. Not wiser.

You're talking about twin snakes right? Cos I never played the port.Ack wrote:Yeah, but MGS used the Eternal Darkness engine, so the Psycho Mantis fight did feature a lot of the same stuff, including the room swaying back and forth, pictures laughing at you, etc. The head that explodes in the picture turns into an ED zombie face anyway...it was a good time.

Yes I played MGS1 through MGS3, and yes I did appreciate the humor in the games. I especially liked how you could set your PS2's clock ahead a few weeks and find The End to be dead in his wheelchair in MGS3.Funk, E wrote:Did you PLAY MGS? Although, I don't think Hideo is without his flaws and occasional madness. Mentioning the PS3 and BluRay within the game world doesn't really come off as "genius" to me.
Yeah, I meant Twin Snakes. Sorry about not specifying.Niode wrote:You're talking about twin snakes right?
