So much work just for a little intro. It is a great intro though.

Also, why did the E3 videos look so much better than the finished product. The one that they show as part of this article is what initially got me interested in the game. I love Deus Ex: Human Revolution and I think it has great art direction, but some of the graphics in the finished product didn't look as good as I expected them to, especially after seeing that trailer. Oh well, it's still a hell of a game.

Because trailers and preview shots are almost always pre-rendered and/or bullshots.

Well for one that E3 video is comprised of all of the various pre-rendered videos in the game (althought I did see a few things that I didn't recognize from the game). It's one of those things where it is tough, as the in-game graphcs look more and more like the CGI, it's more of a big deal when the in-game graphics fall short. I mean, back in the FFVII days, it was obvious which was which, now the lines are blurred.J T wrote:So much work just for a little intro. It is a great intro though.

The intro was sweet too. I thought it was interesting after seeing the endgame too!

It seems like there are quite a lot of scenes in the E3 trailer that are not in the game, and the trailer looks more detailed than the cutscenes in the game. I know a lot of trailers often only show the cut scene CGI, and not the gameplay, but this one seems like the trailer is even better than the games' cut scenes, which seems weird to me.

Re: Extensive analysis of the intro video to Deus Ex: HR
I can't remember the game name now, but remember at E3 a few years ago there was some Sony FPS game that they jumped up and down and swore until they were red in the face that the amazing video was real time gameplay. Then shortly after it was found out that it was pre-rendered. I remember 'bullshot' being thrown around a lot for the first time then. I can't remember the name of the game, but this sort of thing happens all the time.J T wrote:It seems like there are quite a lot of scenes in the E3 trailer that are not in the game, and the trailer looks more detailed than the cutscenes in the game. That was probably Killzone 2.

I'm really confused. The E3 trailer is just pre-rendered cutscenes from game. It looks just like the scenes I saw in the game. What were you disappointed in again exactly? Were you expecting the game play graphics to look like the cutscenes?

I think it's more about the fact that the game isn't pretty outside of cut scenes. While they provided a decent amount of options in the settings screen, the game wasn't particularly good looking.deathsled wrote:I'm really confused.
