Shmup of the Month Club 2012

So I'll ask now, do you guys have a problem with the voting, or not? Do you think one or two game votes should be allowed? Any other suggestions?

I see no problem with the voting as it is with a +3, +2, and +1 required. If it forces people to vote for games outside their comfort zone then all the better, as it might allow some more niche/unpopular titles to slip into the top spot. Keep it as it is - it works and it is interesting.

I'm fine with the voting. It's not like we're forcing anyone to play a particular game. I don't always participate in together retro for various reasons. This is basically the same idea.

I think our real speedbump here was picking Treasure (whos already in TR, and has very few shmups)

That's different though, if the Cave game in TR was Steel Slope Sliders (for whatever reason) then they'd be included here. Really you're not missing out on Cave though because the forum still has a dedicated Cave shmup month, just in a different thread. I know having a shmup of the month club without Cave seems whacky but yeah. I'd rather have a different dev all together get the spotlight for a month than have Cave get 2 months. If this is still going on next year we'll get Cave in then!

In a shocking turn of events Radiant Silvergun won (I suspect most of the votes towards Treasure when we were voting for devs had RS in mind). So let's be done with this and move on to Irem shall we?

@Brunoath: I totally agree, it makes perfect sense. I guess the real problem was treasures lack of shmups, and each one being obscure in an already obsxure genre doesnt help.

I put the Cave thing in blue because I know it wouldn't make too much sense to have them in. I think I mostly was just curious to see how the votes would fall for a dev that 1) Has a ton of variety, and 2) Can't make a game that I don't like.

I'm happy with RS, needed to give it more time anyways.

Now, to think on Irem...
