WOOT COMPONENT CABLEZ!!!

Post by RyaNtheSlayA »

I found a 3rd party company that was selling component cables for Xbox and Gamecube for 10 bux. And being the HD freak I am I picked them up, the name of the company is I&S. The cables work perfectly and are a godsend for my HDTV inputs.

Wait what? Gamecube? When did this happen? I thought only Nintendo had the means of creating component cables for Gamecube, because of some kind of lockout chip in the connector. Or to be specific, I read that only first party cables could enable 480p on Gamecube.

I know thats what I thought but I saw these sitting on the shelf of the retro game place and I asked if I could test them then bring them back if I wanted a refund and they said yes and it looks really good.

Well if you actually get 480p on them, by holding B while starting most games, let us know what happens. Smash Bros, F-Zero, Wind Waker, and Viewtiful Joe all severely benefit from 480p, so try one of those.

I only have NFS U for 480p and it looks damn good, not great, but definately better.

You actually saw a screen that said "Do you want to enable progressive scan?" And you hit yes and the screen still displayed?

I am also skeptical...is this cable the all-in-one component cable for Xbox, PS2 and GC? If so, the GC part isn't component, even though sellers may claim it is.

I still don't believe it. I feel like this cable would have made the news at some point if it actually did 480p without Nintendo's consent.
