Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Definitely.

Sometimes I wish an FF7 remake would come to fruition, because the sheer epic amount of butthurt fanboys that would rise from their dwellings and cry foul would be a truly amazing sight to behold. It would make the Twin Snakes public tantrum look like nothing.
I hear ya. Although I never really heard much shit being flung about MGS vs. MGS:TS but you're right about FF7... That would be one scary day on the Internet in any gaming forum~

May have just been the forums I was on, but getting told how stupid I was for wasting my $50 on the game, dozens of times, weeks before the game was even released and anyone playing it, just frustrated me. Fanboys are a grotesque breed, and the slightest change to that which they love causes them to puke up heaps of stupidity.

I will never understand why they talk as if FBI agents are bursting into their homes, and modifying their beloved game forcibly. They will always have their version of their game, just the way they remember it. Remakes don't hurt anyone. They only bring in new fans. But to some, that kind of thinking is total blasphemy. You cant have new fans. They would be noobs, after all. They'll only embarrass the precious fanbase. I don't need to explain the irony here.

I want to add that RE1 was remade, and I love both editions. FF7 had a lot of spinoffs, none of which I liked, or interested me enough to play, but they don't make me hate the original. If it was remade, I'd give it a chance, because I'm aware of the inherent flaws in the original. Flaws that I saw in it upon release, right at the highest point of hype.

I'd say both versions were good, as with other remakes I've played(I'm looking at you, RE1). I suppose I could understand some bitching about ports, as I get annoyed when I pick up a game only to find out two months later it's out on a different console with some new item or costume or something. I suppose it's a bribe for waiting, but I always feel just a little duped.

I think they should do graphical updates of older Final Fantasy games...but do it more like they did with FF3. Just tweak it, don't go crazy. Update the sprites for the 2D games, bring in more fans. Shoot, I've got multiple versions of FF6 and I play all of them. I'm not gonna freak out if they release another one, and I don't think anybody else should either.

Of course, FF7 fanboys piss me off anyways...but then again, fanboys piss me off anyway. Squaresoft, Capcom, Konami, Sega, Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Atari, or any other company do not shit gold and they wouldn't give it to you even if they did, so just piss off and learn to love all of gaming. And I say that having at one time been a fanboy myself. Try the game, and if you don't like it, tough.

I'm a huge Metal Gear Solid fan and I much prefer the original game to the GameCube remake.
There are a few reason for this:

1. The voices are different in the CG version and some just don't sound right if you're used to the original version.
2. The remake didn't really add anything to the game like the Resident Evil remake did.
3. Because there are some gameplay mechanics of MGS 2 introduced in the GC remake, the game is a little too easy, for instance, now you can aim and shoot in a first person view, something that couldn't be done in the original game. This make taking out guards a little too easy.

The GameCube remake is a fantastic title and does deserve more recognition that it gets. I just played the original game so much so that's why I prefer that.

Wasn't there a cutscene where meryl follows the aiming laser from the sniper rifle in twin snakes?

Follows? You mean just kinda stares at the laser on her chest? A much debated scene. Everyone pokes fun at it without realizing that its in SUPER SLOW MOTION. But still, Meryl just kinda has this "I'm fucked" expression, as Snake wonders why she froze, comes around, looks at it, and then gives her the "You're fucked" expression. Some people have literally said that Meryl is just being retarded and "playing" with the laser dot, then it bites her.

@ Mozgus

My apologies it appears as though I misread what was posted.

I'm not too sure how you know which tracks from either game I have listened to but feel free to use it as a means to justify your arguement. You needn't bother attempt to devalue my opinions though as this is all subjective. Interesting to know what you think.

I remember the PC version of MGS had a bunch of extras over the PS version. How does THAT one compare to either the original or the GC port?

Moz, you probably know about it?

It's been many years since I played the PC version, but I don't believe it featured anything new. It MAY have had the VR mission disc included, but dont quote me. I remember being dissatisfied with the sound and music quality though.

Wiki says:
A Windows PC port of Integral was also released in Europe and North America in late 2000 with PocketStation support removed.[25][12][60] Scoring 83 in Metacritic's aggregate, the game was criticized for "graphic glitches", the aged nature of the port, and being essentially identical to the PlayStation version.

I already explained how I knew. Because your desciption of the game music doesn't apply to the boss themes at all. It's not subjective when you use words to describe music that are actually the opposite of what they are. If someone comes along and calls Metallica R&B, that's just not true. Subjectivity doesn't work like that.
