Games that shouldn't exist

Post by insanecow0 »

*Disclaimer* This is not meant to troll anyone, or to start a flame war. I believe racketboy to be a community of civil young adults/adults/manchildren so we should be able to handle this. Now with that being said, what are games that you think should simply not have been made? I would say shovelware in general, the infamous crappy games like Action 52 and E.T., and gratuitous licensed games like Guitar Hero Aerosmith. Not saying they are a bad band, I just mean I think there are MANY bands that deserved it way more than they did.

That's a good deal for the guitars alone so that was a smart move.

Conan for NES. The game is a monstrosity and is broken in every sense of the word. I'm still angry 20 years later for being pulled in by the awesome artwork and the promise of Conan-style skull crushing.

The graphics are horrible, even by NES standards. And what's sad about that, is that the game was released in 1991, the same year as the Super Nintendo, so it should have been a great looking game since the NES had showed us all it's tricks by then. The enemies spawn randomly, and when I say randomly, I mean anywhere on the screen is fair game, at any time. So you could be in the middle of jump, and an enemy will spawn in front of you, which happens pretty often actually, and when it happens you suddenly plummet straight downwards like a falling rock to a fiery death below. And the controls, stiff as a corpse.

Actraiser 2, holy shit what a difficult mess, it could of been so much better, they could of added onto the "Sim" aspect of it.

Mega Man Battle Network 4. Don't get me wrong, I love MM, and I absolutely adore MMBN. MMBN3, however, killed off Bass, Tadashi Hikari, and Wily, which was a *perfect* point for ending the series. Not only did MMBN4 disregard this, but brought Bass back to life for no real reason. BN5 got worse and added Wily as well, but at least it was a good game. Wait, I didn't mention the actual gameplay of BN4 yet? OH GOD HERE WE GO
-Souls. They replaced the amazing Style Change system. SCs were awarded to compliment your gameplay style, which the game analyzed through your battles. Souls were given to you no matter what.
-You need to go through the game three times at a minimum to 100% it. Why at a minimum? It goes through a game1-game2-game3-game1 cycle, so if you beat the game the first time but missed something exclusive to that playthrough, you'll have to beat it another two times to reach that one thing again.
-Adding insult to injury, NPCs in games 2 and 3 require trading stuff from game 1. Missed it? You're screwed.
-The postgame is pathetically short compared to every other game in the series after the first.
-There's more typos than battle chips, literally. I'm not exaggerating.
-They story is basically OH LOOK A METEOR unrelated tournament EVIL ORGANIZATION WITH NO MOTIVE BESIDES EVIL unrelated tournament DELETE MAIN MEMBER OF EVIL ORGANIZATION LOLOL unrelated tournament HEY THE METEOR'S A MACHINE GO USE THIS LASER TO ENTER IT AND DELETE THE AUTOPILOT the end
-The music is absolutely awful.
-The puzzles... oh God... like that "fill in the blank one"... oooh God...
"There once was a magical dog living in the town of Renice by the name of WzDog. He was skilled in magic, but fought often with his bitter rival (WzMonkey), who was equal in skill. They fought like cat and dog. A* evil magician appeared one day in Renice."
"The magician sealed their magic with his (MagicSel). Now powerless, they were just an ordinary dog and monkey. But with their magic gone, their natural animal instincts returned in a flash! WzDog used his (GoodNose), which dogs are famous for, trapping the magician in a circle. WzMonkey used a monkey's speed and leapt onto the magician's face to deliver a ferocious (Scratch)! The magician turned into a bird and flew away. Once their powers returned, WzDog and WzMonkey returned to fighting like cat and dog..."
-There's only three dungeons in the game. The boss of one of them isn't even a real boss, and the boss of another just runs away. The only other one is the final one.
-Many parts of the game require you to spend your own money... on stuff that won't even stick with you for the next playthrough.
-Doing the multiplayer before a certain part in the story (it's in the third playthrough) activates a literal game breaking glitch. You can't even reach the continue/new game screen to fix it. Your cart becomes garbage.
-Epee Em LP'd it and had a fuckup tally of all the things wrong with it. By the end it neared 300.

I don't think there's any game that should not exist.
