OK, I was at the local Best Buy in the afternoon, and there was a Sony rep. with a retail Vita (she did joke that I shouldn't smooch her and walk away with the Vita).

Gotta say the hardware is a piece of work, no doubt that the R&D team did spend time and put in hard work for this - it is not heavy at all, and looks about the same size of the PSP (your eyes can deceive you!). The OLED looks great, more vibrant than the PSP-3000 screen. There were two demos: Little Deviants and Uncharted: GA, well, I went with Little Deviants (don't ask me why). And I do say both touch surfaces works good.

Yeah I won't buy this right away.. But the upcoming releases look promising.. I saw the release stream and it was very nice... You can also play dual analogs on the PSP download ports..

I was more sold on the Vita but now I'm not sure. I guess I'll see on release.

I'm still psyched and I'm only a stone's throw away from paying off my pre-order. If it delivers on everything I expect it to be (game machine, media player, cell phone (via 3G and skype)) I'll be more than happy. The release list keeps getting longer and almost all the titles listed so far are pretty high in quality.

I don't know, I was already burned by the PSP not having enough unique games. I don't see the point of console experiences on handhelds, cause the current genres that are in "fashion" aren't my cup of tea (shooters).

I like the PS Vita's hardware, but if the 3DS redesign proves good enough I will most likely buy that instead.

The line up is much better than 3DS' launch, and it does appeal more for Western gamers than Japanese gamers (they are waiting for MonHun... agh!). Now I do wish Sony can extend the early bonus (8GB memory card + 1 PSN game) for wi-fi only model as well, do I really need 3G???

I tried one of these out at the local GameStop today. I have to say, from my first couple minutes with the thing, I'm impressed. I tried out a bit of Wipeout 2048 and Hot Shots Golf and both games seem to be on par with their console counterparts. The OLED screen is quite good, and The analogue sticks seem to be pretty decent as well. I think I may actually like them a bit more than the 3ds slider. I may actually take the plunge and pre-order the thing.
