Thanks for the props guys. The ad wasn't even in the videogames section, it was in the electronics section.

I usually check the videogames section first, but then I check the toys, electronics, and computer sections. LOL. Once in a while I check the collectibles section. That is where I found a boxed NES once.
Yeah I've gotten into this habit too. I found my Commodore 64 under "collectibles".

Went to my local thrift store today, and ended up finding this.

I've never seen one of these in the wild before, so even though it didn't have a controller I ended up getting it for twenty bucks. It works, Was that a decent price?

Good price. The controllers will be a nightmare to find unless you go online. I would hit that Thrift store every day for a week and other local branches of what ever company it is. Maybe the controllers might still be buried in the back store room and have not been sorted or priced yet.

One can hope lol. I looked through all the electronics they had for a controller. I'll try hitting them up again tomorrow. Worse comes to worse I end up getting one online, even though they cost about as much as the console lol.

I have no real knowledge on the console itself, but I noticed the controller port looked oddly familiar, It looked like a sega brand controller of some sort would fit. I didn't bother picking one of those up even though they had a few. I looked online, and apparently using one of those can damage the console  So I'm glad I didn't try experimenting lol.

Don't forget the "barter" section. A while back I posted an xbox 360 and said I wanted old games and ended up trading it for an Nes, 50+ Nes games, 2 N64s, about 20 N64 games and some genesis games. Best deal I've made through Craigslist. :D

mjmjr25 wrote:I never stop at the pawn america where I live, because they are pretty good about checking ebay or amazon and getting a baseline price. Typically their games are $3-10 higher than those standard prices and 99% of their stock is current generation stuff. But, since I had to take that route home today, I figured i'd stop on in.

Of there 200 or so retro games, i'd say 197 were at or over market, however I did grab:
TMNT IV - SNES - $5.95
"D" - SATURN - CIB - $11.95
The Jetsons Invasion of the Planet Pirates - SNES - 6.95

I don't need TMNT IV, but I wasn't gonna pass it up at more than 50% under market.
I need D (again) and it's complete, nr mint, w/good case - so for $12, i'm pretty happy on it.
The Jetson's I don't have and it's a minor want for the collection purposes, and definately well under market.

Just odd - the TMNT Tournament Fighters sticker price - $24.95. Maybe they got the games mixed, maybe an error, who knows - but I guess these are the reasons we stop in these places.
Which Pawn America was it? :)

bought this last night for very, VERY cheap. seller even threw in a Genesis 2 and a 32X (with no cords, but oh well). he took The Punisher out at the last minute because his buddy told him it was worth "well over $200." i said no big deal. his friend obviously didn't tell him about the 32X game in the second pic, third from the top on the left. :D
