Hi folks,
New guy here, long time lurker on this wonderful site but I thought it was time to come out of the shadows...
Anyway, my soon-to-be wife got me a Sega Genesis for Christmas! Always wanted one when I was a kid but my parents seemed to think that the SNES that I already had was one system too many.
Clearly they were wrong.
In addition to the console she got me Sonic 2, Streets of Rage 2, Truxton, Thunderforce 2, and Shinobi 3.
I don't really have a question, just wanted to share my enthusiasm with a group I know will appreciate it.
Is 30 too old to be this excited about this?

You have some awesome games on your hands there, hope you have fun with em. Genesis is a personal favorite of mine.
Re: New Guy Post - Sega Genesis for Christmas
I wouldn't think so as the "average gamer" is 35-37 years old; however.... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/32463904/ns ... at-bummed/

Meh, the Genesis isn't quite as amazing a system as a SNES, N64, or DC... but I'd still take it over modern gaming any day.

Now all you need is a powerbase converter and a 32x and you'll be good to go.

It probably helped that I provided her with a list of games I wanted to play when she told me what my Christmas present was....BurningDoom wrote:Man, your wife knew what games to get you started on, didn't she? Congrats man! It's a great system.
I'm having a blast with it and I'm already heading toward expanding my small Genesis library... Starflight... Beyond Oasis... /drool

Re: New Guy Post - Sega Genesis for Christmas
I was about to say wow youre soon to be wife must be a gamer she started you off with a good set of games. Im 37 and while i dont play 20 hours a week like i use to, i occasionally still have a soft spot for gaming. I dont own any of the newer systems, thought about buying one just for playing the many older games that are bought to Xbox live and so forth. I dont get really excited like i once did per say, nor am I they COD whore who plays 5 hours a day and ignores his kids, wife and the dog, i dont see anything wrong with picking up a occasional controller.
Curtsy when you walk by that Dreamcast
